General Motors recruit Jeromy Moore is set to play a pivotal role in the upcoming end-of-season wind tunnel testing in the United States.
Following the conclusion of the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship, a Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang and Toyota Supra will undertake testing at the Windshear facility in North Carolina.
Key to GM’s Supercars program is former Triple Eight Race Engineering technical boss Moore, who departed the Ford-bound team earlier this year, facilitating his release to join GM.
However, Team 18 confirmed he will oversee the technical aspects of the testing process for GM, with Triple Eight (Ford) and Walkinshaw Andretti United (Toyota) the homologation teams for their respective brands.
The Camaro, Mustang and Supra will be benchmarked against each other in crucial validation testing, with the three cars setting sail for the States in recent weeks. Moore was on site at Windshear at the December 2023 testing on behalf of Triple Eight and GM.
Triple Eight revealed its first Gen3 Mustang before Bathurst, with Team 18 uncovering its Peter Hughes-designed test livery on Tuesday.
The new-for-2026 Supra commenced on-track testing in September, just days after its public reveal.
The Team 18 Camaro was raced to victory by Mark Winterbottom in Darwin in 2023, and is set to be raced by star wildcard recruit Craig Lowndes next year.
“We are extremely proud to showcase the colours for our wind tunnel car reflecting our partnership between Chevrolet Racing, GM, and Team 18,” Burgess said.
“Peter Hughes has done a fantastic job; it’s fast, sleek, and aggressive.
“The main reason behind the matte livery is for Supercars and ourselves to easily be able to 3D scan the car pre and post going in the tunnel to accurately capture the fine detail and positioning of the aero surfaces.”
The 2025 Repco Supercars Finals Series resumes at this weekend's Penrite Oil Sandown 500. Tickets are on sale now.
