Supercars confirms Chevrolet Camaro aero adjustment
Change effective from upcoming AirTouch 500 at The Bend
Supercars is planning to undertake centre of gravity testing
An aerodynamic adjustment will be made to the Chevrolet Camaro for the AirTouch 500 at The Bend, following an investigation.
Both the Toyota and the General Motors homologation teams requested parity changes following the Century Batteries Ipswich 440.
Consultation has since taken place with the three homologation teams, namely Team 18 (General Motors), Triple Eight Race Engineering (Ford) and Walkinshaw TWG Racing (Toyota).
In a note sent to the Commission on Tuesday, Supercars has made two determinations following analysis.
Firstly, while the Toyota model triggered parity, it was determined that until certain areas of the Supra are further developed, no parity change can be considered.
Secondly, an analysis of the information Supercars has available highlighted an area that the Camaro is potentially at a deficit.
Supercars confirmed a small aero change will be made to Camaro for the next event, which is an increase of the front undertray tunnel width by 70mm in total.
In context, the Camaro under tray tunnel was reduced by 300mm from how it ran in 2025 at the Windshear off-season test.
Supercars will closely monitor the performance of the Camaro across the Tailem Bend event.
Per the regulations, Supercars has the right to change or modify any parity adjustment for the following two events.
In addition to the change, Supercars is planning to undertake centre of gravity (CoG) testing on nine cars following the Tailem Bend event.
Supercars will confirm plans of the testing, which is set to take place in Melbourne, in due course.
Track action at the AirTouch 500 at The Bend will take place across September 11-13.
