Supercars confirms Chevrolet Camaro wing adjustment
Data reviewed from Friday practice, change required to rear
Two practice sessions, Qualifying, Shootout on Saturday
The Chevrolet Camaro will receive a minor aerodynamic adjustment, effective from Practice 5 at The Bend.
In the lead-up to the AirTouch 500 at The Bend, Supercars enacted a small aero increase of the front undertray tunnel width of the Camaro, by 70mm in total.
Supercars stated it would closely monitor the performance of the Camaro across the Tailem Bend event.
On Saturday morning, Supercars confirmed it has reviewed the data from all cars in Friday’s practice sessions, and determined a change is required to the rear wing angle of the Camaro.
Under clause 7.4 of the Technical Parity Regulations, the rear wing angle of the Camaro will be reduced by 0.3 degrees to a maximum of 8.4 degrees.
The change will be in effect from the beginning of Practice 5 for the AirTouch 500 at The Bend.
Per the regulations, Supercars has the right to change or modify any parity adjustment for the following two events.
Supercars is also planning to undertake centre of gravity (CoG) testing on nine cars following the Tailem Bend event.
Cars are on track for two practice sessions, Boost Mobile Qualifying and Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout on Saturday.
