Brad Jones Racing reveals look at first Toyota Supra chassis
BJR will field four Toyotas in 2026, alongside two from WAU
WAU set to have first prototype on track next month
Brad Jones Racing has revealed progress on its very first Toyota GR Supra Supercar, which will hit the track in 2026.
BJR will field four Toyotas in 2026, alongside two from homologation team Walkinshaw Andretti United.
Much of the Toyota project's progress has been held behind closed doors. However, WAU co-owner Ryan Walkinshaw recently revealed that the first Supra is set to begin testing by the end of August.
This week, Walkinshaw explained that his team's first car has a dummy engine in, given engines are still in the process of being developed.
Walkinshaw added the team's first prototype is set to hit the track in the next four to six weeks.
On Friday, BJR team owner Jones revealed progress of the first BJR Toyota chassis on his team's social media channels.
“This is going to be our very first Toyota Supra Supercar.
“It turns up here with all the bars cut to length, it’s like a Meccano set, really, and then we weld it up.
“The front is mostly done, the floor is one of the last things we’ll do, about a month to go on this project until we’re finished.
"It’s a very, very exciting process for us."
The 2025 Supercars season resumes at the Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440. Supercars drivers will contest three races at the August 8-10 event. Tickets are on sale now. International viewers can watch the action on SuperView.
