Mallala return headlines expanded 2027 Super2 calendar

The DUNLOP Super2 Series will contest its longest season since 2019, expanding to a seven-round calendar for the 2027 season.

The six venues that hosted Super2 rounds in 2026 all return, while for the first time since Wakefield Park in 2008, the development series will headline their own standalone event.

The rising stars of Super2 will make a return to the historic Mallala Motor Sport Park in South Australia, a venue which was formerly a staple of the development series in its early history between 2000 and 2006, the most recent Super2 round held at the venue.

Mallala will be the second round of the season, with the event to be held on the Anzac Day weekend while the Supercars fraternity are being sea freighted across the Tasman Sea for the New Zealand Double Header.

The Mallala round also fills what was a four-month gap between the first and second rounds of the 2026 season between Sydney and Darwin.

Save for the addition of Mallala, the 2027 calendar takes on a similar look and feel to 2026, with the season opening at Sydney alongside the 2027 Repco Supercars Championship from February 26-28.

After returning to Mallala, the development series takes in long haul journeys to Darwin (June 18-20) and Perth (August 6-8) for the final Supercars event to be held at Wanneroo Raceway.

Sandown moves back ahead of Bathurst as the Repco Sprint Cup finale, hosting the fifth round from August 27-29, before the annual trip to Mount Panorama on October 7-10.

There will be a new-look finale in Adelaide, with the revised Adelaide Street Circuit set to debut with the arrival of MotoGP in the South Australian capital.

The 2027 season is set to be the last for the Gen2 Supercars and the Holden brand, before Super2 adopts the Gen3 ruleset for 2028 and beyond.

The 2026 DUNLOP Super2 Series continues at Sandown from November 6-8, before concluding at Adelaide from November 26-29.
