Spare Triple Eight Ford on track in pre-New Zealand running
Triple Eight Mustang to undertake engine analysis evaluations
Supercars action in Taupō commences on Friday April 10
Triple Eight Race Engineering is taking an opportunity between events to complete engine analysis evaluations at Queensland Raceway.
The full fleet of Supercars and team equipment have made their way to New Zealand for the upcoming ITM NZ Double Header.
However, that hasn’t stopped teams working around the clock to get head starts.
Triple Eight is taking to Queensland Raceway on Wednesday to turn laps in its spare car to conduct vibration analysis evaluations.
The Triple Eight Ford will be rigged with vibration analysis equipment, which will offer insight into questions that have arisen over engine reliability.
Wednesday’s running comes amid a series of ride days for Triple Eight at Queensland Raceway, with team partners and members sampling Supercar action.
Team co-owner Earl Evans, also CEO of team partner Shaw & Partners, was one of many to get behind the wheel of the Mustang Cup entry.
Triple Eight staff had a brief break after Melbourne, which came after a hurried repair effort to get Broc Feeney’s damaged car back online before the sea freight journey to New Zealand.
Feeney’s car was heavily damaged in a lap 1 crash in the Melbourne finale that also took the Camaros of Cooper Murray and Zach Bates out of action.
It came after another hurried effort to get the spare Gen3 Ford ready for a special pre-Grand Prix filming opportunity featuring Feeney and ex-Formula 1 star Daniel Ricciardo.
Supercars action in Taupō commences on Friday April 10. Tickets are on sale now.
