First Brad Jones Racing Toyota Supercar build underway
BJR joins Walkinshaw Andretti United in Toyota family for 2026
BJR already working on first in-house Supra chassis build
Brad Jones Racing has already started work on what will be its first Toyota GR Supra Supercar.
Announced last weekend, BJR will join Walkinshaw Andretti United in the Toyota fold next year when the Japanese giant joins Supercars.
Signing the Albury-based squad takes Toyota’s fleet to six Supras, given BJR is the only four-car Supercars team.
While BJR has nine rounds left as a Chevrolet team, it will also have an eye on preparing four Supras for the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship.
They won’t all be brand new, however, with team owner Brad Jones saying some existing Camaros will be converted to Supras.
However, Jones revealed there will be at least one brand new BJR Supra on the 2026 grid, with works underway.
It will also be the first new Gen3 chassis built in-house by BJR, which had previously been receiving chassis from PACE Innovations.
Andre Heimgartner is signed for 2026, with the Kiwi joined by Bryce Fullwood, Macauley Jones and Jaxon Evans this season.
“I think for us to build four new cars is too much,” Jones told media in Tasmania.
“Every year we build one new car and we’ve already started that process. So we’ll build one or two, and then we’ll reskin a couple of cars – we’ll probably reskin three cars, maybe.”
Toyota and WAU are planning on having a Supra on track by the end of the year.
BJR will resume its 2025 campaign in Perth on June 6-8. Tickets on sale now.
