Shane van Gisbergen became just the third driver to win the Larry Perkins Perpetual Trophy.
The championship leader clinched the trophy despite finishing 20th in Sunday's race.
Van Gisbergen held second behind Chaz Mostert at the time of his tyre failure.
“It was so cool to be presented the Larry Perkins Trophy by Larry Perkins himself,” the Kiwi said.
“It was a real privilege to win that one. I love Larry and his history in the sport.
“Even seeing him now undertaking all of the projects he is and how enthusiastic he is about everything, it’s great."
Van Gisbergen receives the trophy
Mostert, who also won Friday's race, won the finale in a canter.
However, van Gisbergen, who won Races 7 and 8, managed to clinch the Perkins Trophy by 17 points.
Mostert was second, with his weekend tally affected by his Race 7 penalty following an incident with James Courtney.
Had he not been penalised for the incident, Mostert would have won his second straight Perkins Trophy.
Jamie Whincup won the 2018 edition, which was the first Albert Park round for points.
Tim Slade was an impressive third overall for the weekend, having finished in the top 10 in every race.
The Sunday podium
David Reynolds was second after Saturday, but damage incurred in Race 9 dropped him to fourth overall.
Will Davison closed out the weekend with two podiums, and ended up fifth overall.
Brodie Kostecki flew under the radar and was sixth ahead of Anton De Pasquale, who finished third on Sunday.
The biggest impression was made by PremiAir Racing driver Garry Jacobson, who finished eighth.
Jacobson recorded a trio of top 10 finishes heading into Sunday's final 20-lapper.
Van Gisbergen will head to Perth with a reduced points lead, having left Saturday with a gap of over 170 points.
The 2022 season will resume at Wanneroo Raceway later this month.
