Supercars drivers will race for points at this weekend's Melbourne SuperSprint, and with it, a unique piece of silverware.
Awarded since the championship first raced for points at Albert Park in 2018, the Larry Perkins Trophy is a special prize, and one that has proven difficult to win.
So, what is the Larry Perkins Trophy, and how do you win it?
Who is Larry Perkins?
Firstly, if you don't know who Larry Perkins is, it's simple: he's a Supercars legend.
However, 'LP' is much more than that, having raced around the world, while also being an astute engineer in his own right.
Perkins, a Supercars Hall of Famer, is legend of Australian motorsport known for his success in both touring cars and Formula 1.
After reaching F1 to make 11 starts in the 1970s, Perkins returned to Victoria and built a legacy as a touring car driver and team owner, winning the Bathurst 1000 six times and running his own Perkins Engineering operation for more than two decades.
Perkins awards the eponymous trophy to the winning driver after the final race.
The Larry Perkins Trophy
The trophy was created by RMIT Engineering student Adrien Fasel-Murphy together with senior lecturer Scott Mayson, using technologies such as 3D printing and virtual reality.
How to win the Larry Perkins Trophy
The trophy is presented to the driver who accumulates the most points across the four Supercars races at Albert Park.
In old terms, it's the 'round winner' — the driver who ends the final race with the highest point score wins the round.
Who has won the Larry Perkins Trophy?

The Larry Perkins Trophy has been on offer six times, and has produced five different winners.
Jamie Whincup was first to the trophy, winning in 2018. While there were four different race winners on the weekend, Whincup finished on the podium four times, for one win, scoring the most points.
Chaz Mostert benefited from an out-lap crash between Scott McLaughlin and Cam Waters to win the trophy in 2019. McLaughlin won three of the four races, but was a non-starter on the day Mostert won.
Qualifying for the first two races of the 2020 season were held, however all racing was cancelled amidst the evolving COVID-19 situation in Melbourne.
Shane van Gisbergen won the second and third races in 2022, which was the first Grand Prix back after the COVID-19 break. David Reynolds was in the box seat midway through the final race, but retired from the finale, gifting the win to van Gisbergen. Chaz Mostert won the other two races, but was penalised over a clash with James Courtney in the second race.
Brodie Kostecki's march to the 2023 championship began with a brace of AGP wins in 2023, which also delivered a Larry Perkins Trophy victory. Van Gisbergen and Broc Feeney shared the other wins.
The last two years have been all about Will Brown, who is the two-time defending Perkins Trophy heading into 2026. Brown won two of the seven completed races between 2024 and 2025, but was the most consistent driver. In the last seven AGP races, Brown has finished second, first, second, second, second, third and first.
