Forging own path crucial for Bathurst debutant Nash Morris
Morris junior to make Supercars Championship debut with PremiAir Racing

Being the son of a Bathurst 1000 winner, Nash Morris has faced pressure and attention during his career.
However, having now secured his first Supercars Championship start, the rising star is pleased to have taken the next step of his career off his own bat.
The 22-year-old will make his first Bathurst start, 11 years after father Paul won the 2014 Great Race with Chaz Mostert.
Father and son tackled racing together after Nash completed his mechanic apprenticeship, culminating in a Super3 title in 2021.

Two ill-fated Super2 campaigns followed, before Nash aligned with Scott Taylor with a cross-category campaign in 2024 before returning to Super2 this year.
In quick time, Morris — driving a Taylor-backed, Tickford-run Ford — made an impression by winning in Tasmania, which caught the attention of PremiAir.
Morris has now gone from racing debut to Bathurst debut in the space of six years, something even he didn’t envisage as a youngster rolling around the paddock as his dad raced.
"I only started racing in 2019. I wasn't really interested in it,” explained Nash, who is third in Super2 points.
“Many people know who my dad was, he obviously won Bathurst in 2014. Back then, I was just a kid kicking the footy around the pits.
"I only went out there to hang out with dad's mates, which was the other drivers. I didn't really look up to them then as how cool they actually were. But now to be racing against them, it's gonna be a pretty cool feeling.”
Paul called time on his Supercars career and has since become a revered driver coach at Norwell Motorplex.
While Nash wasn’t pushed into racing by Paul, the two initially wanted to make it together. However, Nash finished no better than eighth across the 2022 and 2023 Super2 seasons.
Now with Tickford, Morris is making his chance count.
“He's kind of stepped away a little bit and made me forge my own path with obviously the help of Scotty and a lot of other people along the way,” Nash said of Paul.
“He was pretty excited that I kind of got up myself and did it, if that makes sense. He's obviously helped me out along the way, so it's a pretty cool feeling for both of us."
