Nash Morris to pair with PremiAir Racing's Richie Stanaway for Enduro Cup
Son of 2014 Bathurst winner Paul to make Supercars debut
Morris the 54th and final driver confirmed for the enduros
The 54th and final driver to tackle the Enduro Cup has officially been announced, with PremiAir Racing confirming the long-running rumour that Nash Morris will make his Supercars debut.
After claiming his maiden race win in the Dunlop Super2 Series in Tasmania in May, Morris had made his co-driving ambitions known, and paddock speculation soon linked him with Peter Xiberras' operation.
Confirmation of the drive came today, with Morris set to team up with 2023 Bathurst 1000 and 2017 Sandown 500 winner Richie Stanaway in the #62 Camaro at the AirTouch 500 at The Bend and the Repco Bathurst 1000.
Morris currently sits third in the Dunlop Super2 Series standings having returned after taking a year out in 2024, and is excited for the opportunity to pair with a Bathurst winner in his first attempt at The Great Race.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be lining up with PremiAir Racing and Richie Stanaway for the 2025 endurance season,” Morris said.
“This will mark my first laps in the main game, and I feel ready for that challenge.
“To get the win in Super2 in Tasmania was something that has boosted my confidence, and I think it shows that I am developing as a driver and am ready to take the next step in my career.
“Richie is a great driver and the whole PremiAir Racing team has been making fantastic strides of late, so to be a part of their line-up for the enduros is an opportunity I am very pleased about. Hopefully, I can do a great job to repay their faith in me.”
Xiberras added: “We have been very pleased with Richie and how he has developed since joining our team this year, and to have him now pair up with Nash for the endurance races is something we feel brings a lot of potential.
“There is no arguing the importance of the endurance races in this Supercars Championship, and a strong result there is something we are very focused on achieving.
“With Richie and Nash in the #62 and Jimmy and David Russell in the #31, we are feeling confident that we can make a good showing at these critical events.”
Questions linger around the 33-year-old Kiwi's future amidst a difficult first season with PremiAir Racing, though the team were believed to have initially signed Stanaway for two years.
Stanaway sits just 20th in the standings, 338 points away from the top 10 and a potential Finals berth, whilst teammate James Golding is 16th, 166 points from the cut line.
“Nash is a strong up-and-coming driver and I am keen to share my PremiAir Racing Camaro with him for the enduros this year,” Stanaway said.
“He is clearly talented and has grown up in this sport, so his commitment and his hunger is without question. I am sure we can come together to achieve some great things this enduro season in the #62 PremiAir Racing Camaro.”
Should Morris impress in his enduro campaign, then it's not out of the question that a promotion to a full-time role could be on offer, with both Stanaway and Golding's future at PremiAir under a cloud.
There will be 27 cars on the grid at The Bend and Bathurst, with the 24 full-time entries set to be joined by wildcard entries from Triple Eight, Tickford, and Matt Stone Racing.
Both Stanaway and Morris will be in action at the Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440, with Morris contesting Round 4 of the Dunlop Super2 Series. Tickets are on sale now.
