  • Star drivers delivered to new teams after Adelaide finale

  • David Reynolds off to Team 18, Jack Le Brocq off to Erebus

  • Nick Percat replacing Le Brocq at Matt Stone Racing

In keeping with tradition, David Reynolds, Nick Percat and Jack Le Brocq have all been delivered to their new teams ahead of 2024.

After the final race of a season, crews typically wheel their departing drivers to their new teams, delivering humorous results.

Reynolds, who is shifting from Penrite Racing to Team 18, was wheeled into his new garage in an oil drum.

The 2017 Bathurst winner, who finished on the podium in both VAILO Adelaide 500 races, was greeted by Team 18 owner Charlie Schwerkolt.

Reynolds is replacing Scott Pye, who is shifting into a co-drive role with Triple Eight next season. Reynolds, in turn, is being replaced by 2023 Bathurst winner Richie Stanaway.

As Sunday's broadcast continued, Le Brocq — who is moving from Matt Stone Racing to Erebus Motorsport — was carried by engineer Jack Bellotti to the new champions’ garage.

Le Brocq is replacing Triple Eight-bound Will Brown, with outgoing Walkinshaw Andretti United driver Percat in turn replacing Le Brocq at MSR.

Percat’s WAU teammate Chaz Mostert was in charge of the delivery, with the 2011 Bathurst winner strapped to a tyre trolley and wheeled down to MSR.

The Le Brocq/Percat switch had a unique undertone of its own, given Percat and Le Brocq made contact early in Sunday’s race, damaging the #34 Truck Assist Camaro.

“A big thank you to everyone at WAU, all the partners, and of course the Walkinshaw family for my time here,” Percat said.

“It’s been great fun, and while we didn’t quite get the results we wanted, it’s been a pleasure.

“Good luck going forward, I look forward to banging doors with the guys next year on track.”

Drivers will get to test with their new teams in February before the season-opening Thrifty Bathurst 500 on February 23-25. Tickets are on sale now.
