Cam Waters, Thomas Randle extend Tickford Racing deals
Waters, Randle extend with Tickford through to the end of 2027
Waters knocked back General Motors lure to stay with Ford
Leading Ford team Tickford Racing has extended with Cam Waters and Thomas Randle into 2027, in a major Supercars silly season announcement.
Waters and Randle will remain with the team for the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship, having both signed a two-year contract with an additional one-year option.
It keeps both drivers in the Ford family, with Waters knocking back a deal to join the General Motors fold.
Waters joined the team full-time in 2016, with Randle making solo wildcard starts in 2019 and 2021 before signing on from 2022.
Tickford now has one of the longest standing and stable line-ups in Supercars, with 2027 to be the sixth consecutive season with Waters and Randle as teammates.
“This is a massive moment for Tickford,” CEO Simon Brookhouse said.
“Locking in Cam and Thomas for the next two seasons gives us consistency, leadership, and talent behind the wheel. Both drivers are integral to our performance strategy, and their commitment reinforces the direction we’re heading as a team.
"To keep this formidable driving combination together for the next two years places our team in a position of strength to have a two-fold attack at winning both the drivers' and teams' championships.”
Team owner Rod Nash added: “We’ve built a strong foundation with both Cam and Thomas. They’re fast, smart, and understand what it means to race for Tickford.
"This gives us the chance to keep building and racing at the front for years to come. I’ve known these two ‘peas in a pod’ for some time, and the intensity of their passion and commitment to strive forward—with their competitive edge — is a great asset for our team.
"They are great mates to me, to each other, and together, on and off the track, they represent the Supercars sport in a very professional manner. With 18 years collectively between them as part of the Tickford Racing Team, this consistency is what you need to be a winner.”
Waters and Randle are currently fourth and sixth in the drivers' standings, with Tickford second in teams'. The Victorian duo helped Tickford to second overall last season, which was the team's best finish since 2015.
Waters, who won the 2015 Super2 title with the team, and has taken all 18 career wins in Tickford colours, said: “Tickford has been home for a long time, and I’m stoked to lock in the next phase of my career. We’ve got unfinished business and I’m ready to keep pushing for wins and the championship.
"I’ve got an amazing team around me and to be working with them and Tom for another two seasons will be great, we’ve got a strong dynamic and I’m looking forward to the next few years.”
Randle added: "I am super excited to be announcing today that I am re-signing with Tickford for 2026 and 2027, Tickford is where I got my start not only in Super2 but also in the Supercars Championship.
"We have done some pretty cool things in the last few years, had some great results together and I can’t wait to continue this journey with Cam alongside me as well.
"We’ve known each other for such a long time and had some pretty cool moments on and off the track together, I am looking forward to seeing what’s in store for the both of us in the future with Tickford Racing."
