Triple Eight tech boss Jeromy Moore set to join General Motors by July
Moore to play key role in new united General Motors approach in Supercars
GM signed Moore following Triple Eight’s Ford switch announcement
The path is set to be cleared for Triple Eight technical director Jeromy Moore to join General Motors by July.
As part of a handover of homologation duties to Team 18, Moore is set to join GM as early as next month. In March, GM signed Moore following Triple Eight’s sensational announcement to its switch to Ford in 2026.
Moore, who has been part of the Triple Eight family for the best part of two decades, was set to serve a six month notice period and a six month non-compete with Triple Eight.
However, sign-off is close to seeing Moore join GM, with Team 18 owner Charlie Schwerkolt saying in Perth: “I think it has got to be signed off yet, but it’s very, very close.
“There’ll be conditions around that, et cetera, I’m not sure what they all are – Adrian [Burgess, Team 18 Team Principal] and Jamie [Whincup, Triple Eight Team Principal] do that part – but it’s pretty close.”
Whincup added: “We’re working towards that mid-July date. It’s not signed off yet, but that’s what we’re all working towards and that’s the intention.”
Moore is set to play a key role in GM’s new united approach with teams, as it fights to stay at the top of Supercars.
The homologation team handover is also set to take place in July, with Team 18 boosting its crew with the signing of two former Supercars technical staff in recent weeks.
"We’re just gearing up, ready to take the baton from Jamie next door,” Schwerkolt said.
“He has got the keys at the moment for when things get released over to us… but there’s a lot of discussion and that’s all going well.
“We have got a CAD designer onboard, we have got a few things all in place, so hopefully about mid-July we’ll start.”
Triple Eight leads both championships heading to Darwin, with Team 18 one of three teams chasing its first podium of 2025, alongside Erebus Motorsport and PremiAir Racing.
