Bathurst entry list sets scene for potential title-clincher

A provisional entry list has been released for the Dunlop Series round at the Repco Bathurst 1000, where Kai Allen could secure his second Super2 title.

Allen will race one of 17 Super2 cars entered for the October 10-13 event, with three Super3 entries featured on the entry list.

The Eggleston Motorsport driver leads nearest rival Zach Bates by 126 points, and should he leave Bathurst with a 300-point lead, he will clinch a second Super2 title.

Aaron Cameron and Max Vidau are third and fourth, 144 and 285 points behind.

Cooper Murray, Cameron McLeod, Cameron Crick and Matt Chahda are set to focus on their Great Race duties, with Murray, McLeod and Crick to make their Bathurst 1000 debuts. Cameron and Brad Vaughan will also make their first Bathurst 1000 starts.

Jack Perkins' 2024 campaign also stops at two rounds, with the second-gen racer winning the Townsville round, and a race at Sandown.

Allen and Murray split the poles at the Bathurst 500 round in February, with Allen winning both races.

Murray's #88 car was initially listed with TBA next to the driver, before 2009 champion and 2016 Bathurst winner Jonathon Webb emerged as his replacement.

Meanwhile, Matt Chahda Motorsport's #116 will be driven by Trans Am driver Jackson Rice in place of the injured Aron Shields.

Cody Burcher and Thomas Maxwell return in their Super3 Nissan Altimas, alongside debutant Bailey Sweeny in an Image Racing-prepared Holden Commodore. Burcher leads Maxwell by 126 points.

Dunlop Series action gets underway on Thursday October 10, with a 40-minute race to be held on Friday October 11 and Saturday October 12.
