Tickford unveil latest Castrol throwback livery
Thomas Randle to run 2007 Ford Performance Racing look at Sandown
Orrcon Steel return as Tickford sponsor as part of throwback
Tickford Racing have unveiled their latest Castrol throwback livery for the Penrite Oil Sandown 500, harking back to the team's Ford Performance Racing era.
Castrol opened up a fan vote in conjunction with V8 Sleuth for Thomas Randle's 2026 Sandown look, with the 2007 Bathurst livery of Mark Winterbottom and Steven Richards winning the vote.
Now, the livery has officially been unveiled on the #55 Mustang of Randle, complete with several period-correct touches from the Ford BF Falcon's livery.
The Ford windscreen banner makes a return, as does the iconic FPR Falcon on the rear quarter, with Winterbottom's long-time FPR backers Orrcon Steel also returning to the team.
It marks the third time Randle has run a throwback Castrol livery at Sandown, after running a TOM's Toyota Supra look in 2024, and the iconic Larry Perkins 'sawtooth' livery last year.

"It’s tough to say where this one stacks up, but it’s honestly super special. The fact that it was a Tickford FPR livery getting put back on a Tickford car, albeit a Mustang this time, is very exciting," said Randle.
"To be driving a car that was driven by two great guys, Frosty and Richo, is something special. The team have done an amazing job replicating it as best as possible, even with some of the old partners on the car. They’ve come on board and the Falcon is on the side of the car as well, which is pretty special.
"Castrol has been with the team for nearly 25 years. It’s an incredible partnership with a lot of brand loyalty and trust. It’s not just about running the livery, it’s celebrating what’s been achieved throughout all those years, and that’s what’s really special."
Both Winterbottom and Richards were also on hand to help reveal the livery, and reminisce on their near-miss at Bathurst in 2007, as Winterbottom speared off in wet conditions in the closing laps whilsts leading.
"This livery was a pretty special one to me so when I saw Castrol had the votes, I jumped on and commented straight away. I picked that car because it does mean a lot," said Winterbottom.
"It was cool to catch up with Richo again and relive those memories. It didn’t turn out the way we wanted, but we had so much fun that weekend, and so many stories, and we went on to create quite a few after that one as well."
Richards added: "The 2007 livery was a pretty cool one. Back in the day we had a lot of success through the enduro campaign, and a lot of good fun together.
"I think the fans voted for the livery because it was quite unique at the time. It had the Falcon, so maybe there’s a bit of passion from the Ford fans remembering it.
"We had a great combined livery with Castrol and Orrcon, and it’s awesome to see that all coming back this weekend. It relates with a lot of people, those moments Frosty and I had and it’s great to see people remember it."
Randle will hit the track in the new-look #55 on Friday for two practice sessions at the Penrite Oil Sandown 500.
