Andre Heimgartner snaps two-year winless drought in Tasmania
Kiwi completes Saturday sweep for Toyota after Chaz Mostert win
Broc Feeney extends championship lead after damage for Brodie Kostecki
Andre Heimgartner has claimed his third career win following a dominant display in Race 15 of the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship, the 100th ATCC/Supercars race held at Symmons Plains.
Heimgartner converted his pole position off the start, and was never headed to claim his and Brad Jones Racing's first win since Taupō 2024, and the first win with Toyota for both parties.
The Kiwi had to fend off early advances from championship leader Broc Feeney, who was able to substantially grow his points lead after a tough race for Brodie Kostecki.
It was Feeney's #88 Red Bull Ampol Ford that proved the best car in the early phases, continually looking up the inside of the hairpin, but Heimgartner used the high line to good effect to stave off the Repco Sprint Cup leader.
Heimgartner started to eek out a small margin 10 laps into the race as it settled into a rhythm, while eventual third-place finisher Matt Payne had Ryan Wood rattle on the rear left corner exiting the Turn 4 hairpin.
Wood's teammate Chaz Mostert found himself with a tine penalty after spinning Jayden Ojeda at Turn 6 on lap 14, the Race 14 winner picking up 15 seconds for his role in the incident.
The gap from first to second began to shrink as Feeney's car again got stronger in the latter end of the opening stint, however the #8 Toyota was once again able to repel the Ford's advances.
On lap 23, Feeney was given a big free kick in the championship, as David Reynolds locked up and speared into the back of Kostecki at Turn 4.
Kostecki's #17 Shell V-Power Mustang copped heavy rear end damage, and was immediately punished by the drag created by the damage, which was rectified at his pit stop, but dropped him back to last — where he would finish.
Reynolds, who had finished on the podium in the opening race of the weekend, was slapped with a 15-second penalty for his role in the incident, which was applied post-race. Reynolds was classified 17th.
Feeney, meanwhile, attempted an undercut on Heimgartner by pitting on lap 28, to which BJR responded the following lap.
Payne also made a strategy play on the same lap as Heimgartner, attempting a two-tyre stop to jump to what would've been the effective lead, but BJR's famed pit stop speed came to the fore, keeping the #8 ahead with four fresh tyres.
That left Payne vulnerable to Feeney, who also had four fresh tyres, and on lap 35 he got the job done with a side draft down the back straight into Turn 6.
Even though Feeney had clear air, Heimgartner was able to extend the margin in the lead, breaking the back of the race in a dominant drive, with Feeney and Payne rounding out the podium, the Penrite Racing star jumping to second in points.
Anton De Pasquale threw everything he could at Payne for a last gasp podium, and threw the #18 Chevrolet off the road at the penultimate corner, falling behind Will Brown into fifth.
The top 10 was rounded out by Allen, who surged from 17th on the grid, Cam Waters, Ryan Wood, Cameron Hill, and Thomas Randle.
The final day of the Tyrepower Tasmania Super 440 begins with Boost Mobile Qualifying for Race 16 on Sunday morning at 11:35am AEST.
