With Wanneroo set to become the first circuit in ATCC/Supercars history to host 100 championship races next weekend, Supercars.com takes a look at some of the biggest stories and moments from the beloved Perth venue.
If history is anything to go by, Boost Mobile Qualifying could prove pivotal in deciding the outcome of all three races at the Bosch Power Tools Perth Super 440.
Much like Symmons Plains in Tasmania, with only seven corners spread over a 2.42km lap, there are limited opportunities for overtaking in Wanneroo, and track position has always been key.
As such, starting towards the pointy end of the field has become a key target for those aiming to stand on the top step,
Of the 97 races held in Perth since 1973, 69 of them have been won from the front row of the grid, displaying just how important qualifying speed is in Western Australia.
48 races have been won from pole position, whilst a further 18 wins have come from the second row of the grid - 13 coming from third, and five from position four on the grid.
Since Gen3's debut in 2023, the last five races in Perth have been won from pole position, however five different drivers have won - namely Shane van Gisbergen, Will Brown, Broc Feeney, Chaz Mostert, and Cam Waters.
In fact, dating back to 2016, only four races haven't been won from the front row of the grid, of which three were won from third on the grid.
The outlier was Scott McLaughlin's memorable charge from 19th on Sunday in 2018, which does prove that you can strategise your way to victory from deep in the field, however you need underlying car pace to go with it.
Although starting from third, Craig Lowndes also used strategy to win the first race in 2016, making a second stop in the 50-lapper to charge from 22nd to the front over the final 22 laps to claim an improbable win.
Such an importance on qualifying could put championship leader Broc Feeney in a promising position, with the 2023 Sandown 500 winner currently topping the Boost Mobile Pole Award with five poles in 2025.
Of the 24 full-time drivers in this year's field, Chaz Mostert has the most poles of anyone in Perth with four career pole positions, the last of which came on Saturday last year.
