Site establishment works begin at Perth Park
Entertainment and sport precinct to feature a Supercars street circuit
Perth Park slated to host Supercars from 2028
The home of a future Supercars street race in Perth is set to take a key step forward this week, as site establishment works commence at Perth Park.
The Western Australian Government has laid out plans for a multi-use entertainment and sporting precinct on the Burswood Peninsula, located between Crown Perth and Optus Stadium.
A Supercars street circuit is among a range of facilities planned for Perth Park, which will also feature an outdoor music amphitheatre, cycling track, and multi-purpose permanent structures to be used for functions, events, and sport.
"Our Government is all about delivery and Perth Park is going to be an incredible precinct for Western Australia,” said Sport and Recreation Minister Rita Saffioti.
"It will be a hub for community, entertainment, culture, arts, and sport while also delivering major economic returns for our State.”
Supercars is targeting a 2028 debut at the Perth Park circuit, which is set to be made up of existing streets and new roads, similar to other venues like Melbourne’s Albert Park and Townsville’s Reid Park street circuits.
"As our State's premier sporting and entertainment precinct, Perth Park will deliver ongoing economic returns for WA and become a thriving community parkland,” added Parliamentary Secretary Daniel Pastorelli.
"Once completed, it will become something all Western Australians can be proud of - an iconic destination for locals, families, and tourists.”
WA’s current home for the Repco Supercars Championship, Wanneroo Raceway, will again host the championship July 31-August 2, what will be the eighth round of the 2026 season.
In 2025, Wanneroo became the first Supercars venue to host its 100th Supercars/ATCC race.
The 2026 Repco Supercars Championship season begins February 20-22 at the DUNLOP Sydney 500 at Sydney Motorsport Park.
