Western Australia Government commits to build new, multi-purpose precinct
First designs released reveal hub for live sport, entertainment and community use
Supercars set to host street race at Perth Park in 2028
A spectacular Supercars round on the streets of Perth can now become a reality.
This follows today’s commitment by the Western Australia Government to build a new, multi-purpose precinct named ‘Perth Park’.
First designs released today reveal a hub for live sport, entertainment and community use.
It includes a multi-use track that will support an annual, three-day motorsport event.
Supercars Chief Executive James Warburton says it creates the chance to produce an iconic, world-class spectacle.
“The chance to hold a Supercars street race at Perth Park precinct is something we’re really looking forward to in 2028. We’re very excited to be a part of it,” Warburton says.

Supercars Hall of Fame icon Craig Lowndes supported the design reveal along with fellow sport stars, community sport and entertainment industry figures.
Lowndes says the new precinct will provide similar facilities and showcase for Perth, as Melbourne’s Albert Park circuit and the Adelaide street circuit, hosting this week’s bp Adelaide Grand Final.
“With Supercars being beamed around the world to 150 countries it will definitely put Perth Park and Perth as a city on the global map,” Lowndes says.
“We are lucky enough to have an opportunity to house Supercars around this Perth Park which is exciting to see.”
A Supercars round is projected to contribute $61 million to the WA economy every year.
The Perth Park multi-use track will also be used for cycling events.

It also includes a state-of-the-art, multi-use building, that will feature event, function and sporting facilities and public amenities. It will be designed to cater for the annual motorsport event as a permanent pit building.
The precinct features a 12,000 seat outdoor amphitheatre purpose-built for live concerts, provides indoor sporting facilities and 150,000 tree urban forest.
WA Premier Roger Cook backed the inclusion of a Supercars event at Perth Park.
“I think when people see the legacy it creates for future generations, when they see it brings this whole area alive, public amenity, opportunity to create events here, it is an important project,” Premier Cook says.
“Sitting alongside the Belmont Park Racecourse and Crown Perth, Perth Park will bring Optus Stadium and the State Tennis Centre together with exciting new facilities to create something truly iconic for our State long into the future,”.
Works are due to begin next year ahead of the park opening in 2027.
Supercars will return to WA for Round 8 of the 2026 season at CARCO.com.au Raceway from July 31 to August 2.
