Penrite Racing has announced Dale Wood will not return to its Supercars co-driver line-up in 2026.
The veteran won’t race for the Ford team next season, after joining in 2024 alongside Richie Stanaway.
Wood also made a first solo start since 2017 at last year's Adelaide 500, deputising for Stanaway on Saturday after the Kiwi was ruled out with concussion following a heavy crash in Friday qualifying.
This year, Wood partnered Kai Allen, who clinched a Finals berth at the Repco Bathurst 1000 on a day where the sister car of Matt Payne and Garth Tander claimed a stunning win.
It’s the first significant co-driver announcement for 2026. Last year Tander signed a multi-year deal with the team as Strategic Advisor and endurance co-driver.
“I am so proud to have been a part of Penrite Racing the past two years,” Wood said.
“Seeing the way the team are growing and to be along side the team getting the Bathurst win this vear are memories I’ll have forever.
“I was welcomed by the team every time I walked in the door like I’ve never experienced before and I’m very grateful for this.
“I can’t wait to see what’s next for the team and for myself moving forward.”
Grove Racing CEO Brenton Grove said: “Dale has been a valued member of Grove Racing, contributing to the progress of our main game drivers and playing a key role in Kai’s rookie season.
“His professionalism and commitment has not gone unnoticed over the last two seasons.
“We thank Dale for his efforts over the past two years and wish him all the best in the next stage of his racing journey.”
The 2026 enduros commence at the AirTouch 500 at The Bend on September 11-13 next year.
