Penrite Racing, Team 18 stars support breast cancer research
David Reynolds brings back pink helmet for Gold Coast 500
Matt Payne, Kai Allen to race in special race suits, gloves
The Supercars field is set to feature a splash of pink at the upcoming Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500, as teams and drivers get behind breast cancer fundraising and research.
Team 18's David Reynolds and Penrite Racing duo Matt Payne and Kai Allen will both be supporting the charitable cause with pink touches across the course of the Surfers Paradise event.
All three will run pink racing apparel, with Reynolds' donning a pink helmet, while the Penrite pairing will run with pink accents on their race suits, as well as pink gloves.
The 2017 Bathurst winner, in partnership with JAX Tyre & Auto, will auction off the special helmet at the end of the weekend via Lloyds Auctions, with 100% of proceeds going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Team 18's crew will also be wearing pink shirts during set up and pack downs and Thursday and Sunday, while JAX will be selling pink tyre valve caps through to the end of October in exchange for a donation, as part of their 'Put a Cap on Breast Cancer' campaign.
“Breast cancer affects so many families, so I’m proud to once again be part of this campaign with JAX Tyres & Auto and the National Breast Cancer Foundation," said Reynolds.
"Hopefully we can raise plenty of funds through the helmet auction and support the important work being done in breast cancer research.”
Penrite Racing's efforts form part of Snap-On Tools' 'Socket to Breast Cancer' campaign, with proceeds going to the McGrath Foundation.
A limited-edition range of pink tools are on sale, while both Payne and Allen's apparel will be auctioned off post-event. Penrite Racing will also run a revised livery to mark the fundraising efforts.
“Socket to Breast Cancer is a really important initiative and we are excited to be part of it as a team and do what we can to fight cancer," said Payne.
“Cancer impacts so many people and for us to be able to help raise funds through our racing allows us as a sport and the entire motorsport community to get behind a very worthwhile cause and make a difference to the lives of those who are impacted."
Allen added, “We’re eager to see everyone getting behind Socket to Breast Cancer and support the amazing work of Snap-on in bringing this initiative into the Supercars paddock.
“Cancer has such a significant impact on so many families around Australia, so for us as a team at Penrite Racing to be able to support this campaign is something that means a lot to all of us. We’ll be encouraging everyone to dig deep and get behind this important campaign throughout October.”
On-track action at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 begins on Friday, with Practice 1 commencing at 11:45am AEST.
