Erebus Motorsport announces main game deal for rookie Jobe Stewart

Erebus Motorsport has officially announced the promotion of Academy driver Jobe Stewart to the main game in 2026.
The South Australian replaces Matt Stone Racing-bound Jack Le Brocq, with Stewart and incumbent Cooper Murray forming one of the youngest confirmed pairings on the 2026 grid.
With an average age of 22.5, the 2026 Erebus line-up is only behind Penrite Racing's 21.5, which features 23-year-old Matt Payne and 20-year-old Kai Allen.
Stewart, the 2023 Super3 champion, is also one of three confirmed rookies on the 2026 grid, alongside Jackson Walls (SCT Motorsport/Triple Eight) and Jayden Ojeda (PremiAir Racing).
The Erebus drive completes Stewart's journey with the team he joined at 13. The youngster climbed through the ranks, racing in Toyota 86, Super3, and into Super2, before making his enduro debut alongside Murray this year.
Murray/Stewart duly impressed, finishing seventh at The Bend before vying for victory in Bathurst, only for a late incident to drop them to a still impressive fourth.

Stewart has now delivered on his intention to rise to the main game in 2026, something he told Supercars.com back in August.
“It’s been a long journey to get here, but one I’ve loved every step of the way,” the 21-year-old said.
“Erebus has been my home since I was a kid and to now be stepping into the #9 Camaro full-time is something really special.
“From 86s to Super3 and Super2, the Academy and the team has given me every opportunity to learn and grow, both on and off the track. I’ve learned a lot working alongside Cooper this season too and I can’t wait to hit the ground running next year.”
Stewart has been announced on a "multi-year" deal, taking him to at least 2027.
Erebus Motorsport CEO Barry Ryan said: “Jobe has earned this opportunity. He’s been part of the Erebus family for a long time and has developed into a complete driver through hard work and consistency.
“His results in Super2 and his performances across the endurance season showed he’s ready to take the next step. We’re really proud to see another of our Academy drivers progress all the way to the main game, that’s what the program is all about.”
Erebus team owner Betty Klimenko added: “When we created the Erebus Academy, it wasn’t about ticking a box, it was about building a genuine pathway for young people in motorsport.
“Jobe’s journey is the perfect example of what can happen when you give someone the opportunity and the support to grow.
“I’ve watched him come through every stage of this team and to now see him moving into a full-time seat is incredibly rewarding. It’s proof that what we’re building is working and that the future of Erebus, and the sport, is in good hands.”
Stewart will complete his Super2 campaign in Adelaide next month.
