Courtney Prince to drive Eggleston Motorsport Holden Commodore at Winton
Rising star to complete evaluation day with young Kiwi Liam Sceats next week
Fellow female racer Alice Buckley to drive Matt Stone Racing Holden this month
Rising star Courtney Prince is raring for her first laps in a Supercar as she aims to progress into the Dunlop Super2 Series.
The 24-year-old will drive an Eggleston Motorsport Holden ZB Commodore at Winton Motor Raceway on Monday.
Prince has risen through the ranks from karts, winning Australian Ladies Champion titles, club championships and two Australian titles.
She progressed to Formula Ford at state and national level, and also placed fourth in her first Aussie Racing Cars season, and fourth in the 2022 Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge.
Prince has also enjoyed success in GT3, GT4 and Production Cars, headlined by a Bathurst 6 Hour class victory.
She is the latest female racer to score Supercars seat time, with Chevrolet-backed teenager Alice Buckley to steer a Matt Stone Racing Commodore later this month.
Buckley was set to test an Eggleston Holden earlier this year, only to be sidelined by an injury. Eggleston’s commitment to testing youth remains strong, though, with former Porsche Carrera Cup regular Prince to get behind the wheel next week.
"I've done a lot of Porsche and GT racing, but this is my first time in a Supercar,” Prince told Supercars.com.
“The opportunity to test a Supercar is really exciting and hopefully we can put together something for next year.”
Prince was worked with the likes of Thomas Randle and Josh Fife to get up to speed with the idiosyncrasies that come with Supercar machinery.
Notably, she will have to park ways of driving she used in Porsches, with Prince to drive a Supercar with the heel-and-toe technique.
"I've been doing a lot of time on the sim to get prepared,” she explained.
"Obviously it's got a bit more horsepower and you need to be a bit more patient in the corners compared to the Porsche with all the aero that comes with it.
“The biggest thing is heel and toe. It’s been a few years since I've raced the car with heel and toe. Once you get up to speed with that again, you can work on speed cornering.
“So, it'll require a bit of a different driving style, but I think I'll definitely love having more horsepower.”
Like Buckley, Prince is hopeful to rising to Super2 in 2026.
“Supercars has always been my goal to end up in, it's the best category in Australia,” Prince said.
“You obviously want aim for the top, but the exciting racing, especially this year and Bathurst especially, has been really inspiring."
