Cameron Hill parting ways with Matt Stone Racing at end of season
Hill finished 23rd in rookie season before ending up 12th last year
Canberran won maiden race earlier this year, in contention to reach Finals
Matt Stone Racing and Cameron Hill will part ways at the end of the 2025 season, the team has confirmed.
Hill first joined MSR in 2023, and after two building seasons, exploded into form at the beginning of 2025. The Canberran won at the Grand Prix in March, and backed up with a stunning charge to second in New Zealand.
Results dried up in subsequent rounds, Hill dropping out of the top 10 after an unfortunate brake failure in Townsville. However, a Shootout performance and run to 11th at The Bend kept his Finals hopes alive.
Questions over Hill's future have swirled around in recent weeks, with the 28-year-old linked to Brad Jones Racing.
What is certain is MSR will have a vacancy to fill for 2026. Nick Percat is contracted to the end of 2027, but there have been suggestions the 2011 Bathurst winner could also be on the move.

In a team statement, MSR said team and driver "remain committed to finishing the current season on a high note as the team continues its push for strong results in the remaining rounds."
"Cam has been a fantastic part of our team since joining us in 2023,” team owner Stone said.
“While we will go our separate ways at the end of this year, we’re proud of what we’ve achieved together and wish him all the best for the next chapter of his career.”
Hill could yet make The Finals, sitting just 51 points outside the top 10 with 300 points up for grabs at the upcoming Repco Bathurst 1000.
Despite his exit now being public, Hill remains set to going deep into the 2025 championship.
“We’ve been through highs and lows together, and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished as a team,” Hill said.
“I’ve grown so much since my first race with MSR, and I’ll carry those lessons and friendships with me wherever I go. Right now, my focus is on finishing 2025 as strongly as possible and giving the crew the results they deserve.”
Hill will race alongside rising star Cameron McLeod at the Repco Bathurst 1000 on October 9-12.
