Matt Chahda has enjoyed his latest taste of a Triple Eight Race Engineering-built Gen3 Chevrolet Camaro, as the privateer edges towards his second enduro campaign.

Super2 stalwart Chahda was able to complete up to 10 laps at Queensland Raceway in the car that was campaigned by Broc Feeney in last year's championship, complete in this year's livery.

The Albury privateer was recently approved to compete in this year's Penrite Oil Sandown 500 and Repco Bathurst 1000, with a co-driver yet to be announced.

Prior to the recent event in Perth, Chahda confirmed he had been in talks with Triple Eight and fellow Albury squad Brad Jones Racing about entering one of their Camaros.

"It wasn't about going and setting records, it was just about driving it really," Chahda told Supercars.com.

"It's cool to jump in that car with that team, because that team is not a half-stitched effort. That's exactly how the car should be."

It wasn't Chahda's first seat time in a Gen3 car, with the 30-year-old steering a Triple Eight-built PremiAir Nulon Camaro car last year.

Will Brown, meanwhile, drove a PremiAir Nulon Camaro on Tuesday, helping the team gain valuable feedback courtesy of its technical alliance with Triple Eight.

The Chahda squad has also yet to acquire a car, but Tuesday's laps indicate Chahda could be set to tackle his first main game races since 2022 in Triple Eight machinery.

On securing a car for the enduros, Chahda added: "It's looking pretty good."

Chahda is 21st in the Super2 standings heading to the next round in Townsville on July 5-7, after an engine issue forced him out of the Perth finale.

"There's spares available. Even if our engine is not fixed, we'll be fine," he added.

The Repco Supercars Championship will continue at the betr Darwin Triple Crown on June 14-16. Tickets for the event are on sale now. International viewers can follow all the Supercars action on Superview.
