Supercars.com is your place to be for live coverage of this week’s testing action in Sydney.
The DUNLOP Sydney 500 is the first chance for drivers and teams to aim for silverware and championship points.
However, before we go racing in 2026, drivers and teams roll out for the Destination NSW Test Day.
It’s a little bit different this year, though — testing in 2026 will take place across two days, on two different track layouts.
Here’s everything you need to know about what’s on, and how to keep up with the action.
Where is 2026 Supercars pre-season testing being held?
Supercars’ 12 teams and 24 drivers will hit the track at Sydney Motorsport Park for the first of two official tests in 2026.
In 2026, due to circuit works, Supercars will use two different track layouts — the 2.8km Druitt Circuit, and the 3.93km Gardner Circuit.
There will be no public access to Sydney Motorsport Park for both sessions. Fans can catch the new look at the DUNLOP Sydney 500 on February 20-22. Tickets, including for DUNLOP Free Friday, are on sale now.
What are the session times for 2026 Supercars pre-season testing?
Drivers will be logging laps across morning and evening sessions on Wednesday and Thursday.
Session 1, on the Druitt Circuit, will run from 8:30am to 12:30pm on Wednesday February 18.
Session 2, on the Gardner Circuit, will run from 5:30pm to 9:30pm on Thursday February 19.
What happens in 2026 Supercars pre-season testing?
Testing run plans are entirely up to the teams, who will opt to give full-time and additional (co-drivers) drivers laps behind the wheel.
Some teams will focus on getting brand new cars up to speed, such as Triple Eight Race Engineering’s new Fords.
The Toyota teams — Walkinshaw TWG Racing and Brad Jones Racing — are set to run different plans, centred on engine mapping and ironing out any bugs in the all new Supras.
A series of new car shakedowns and rookie tests have already taken place, at Queensland Raceway and Winton Motor Raceway. Triple Eight, Walkinshaw TWG, BJR, Dick Johnson Racing and Matt Stone Racing have already turned laps. Team 18 also joined Triple Eight and Walkinshaw TWG in evaluating cars at last weekend’s Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour.
The Wednesday session will be the first track action for Penrite Racing, Tickford Racing, Erebus Motorsport, PremiAir Racing and Blanchard Racing Team in 2026.
How can I follow 2026 Supercars pre-season testing?
Supercars.com will offer coverage throughout testing, including live updates, live timing and session reports, along with exclusive video updates on Supercars.com and Supercars’ social media channels.
What happens after 2026 Supercars pre-season testing?
After this week’s testing, attention will quickly turn to the DUNLOP Sydney 500, also at Sydney Motorsport Park, the opening round of the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship.
Just two weeks later, teams will return to Albert Park for the Melbourne SuperSprint, which is on the undercard for the Formula 1 QATAR AIRWAYS Australian Grand Prix 2026.
