Thrifty Newcastle 500 schedule released

The track schedule for the Thrifty Newcastle 500, the first round of the Mustang vs Camaro Gen3 era, has been released.

The 2023 Repco Supercars Championship will commence with two 250km races on the Newcastle streets.

The March 10-12 round is the first Supercars event at the circuit since November 2019.

Supercars will be in action on all three days of the event. Tickets are on sale on Supercars.com and Ticketek.com.

The first official on-track Gen3 action will be the first of three Friday practice sessions at 11:15am local time.

Supercars drivers will tackle Practice 2 and Practice 3 at 1:45pm and 3:50pm respectively.

Cars return to the track on Saturday and Sunday for ARMOR ALL Qualifying, a Top Ten Shootout and a 250km race.

The 95-lap races commence at 3:20pm local time on both Saturday and Sunday, and run to the allotted distance or one lap after 5:18pm.

Supercars will be supported by the future stars of the championship in the Dunlop Series, with Super2 again joined by Super3.

Touring Car Masters and Aussie Racing Cars complete the support card, with TCM to race on all three days of the event.
