Luke Youlden and Zane Goddard have been tasked with lapping the Gen3 prototypes in Townsville.
The Gen3 cars will make their second appearance at a street circuit at this weekend’s NTI Townsville 500.
2017 Bathurst winner Youlden will steer the Camaro, with Goddard to lap the Mustang.
Neither driver is unfamiliar with the Gen3 prototypes.
Youlden and Goddard lapped the cars at the last street circuit event, at Albert Park in April.
The Albert Park round was the most recent Supercars event to feature Gen3 track action.

The cars will be on track at Reid Park on all three days of the NTI Townsville 500.
Townsville will become the sixth different circuit to have hosted Gen3 running.
The cars have previously lapped Mount Panorama, Queensland Raceway, Symmons Plains, Albert Park and Phillip Island.
Most recently, the cars were taken to Wellcamp airport in Toowoomba for aerodynamic testing.
The cars will have four dedicated Gen3 sessions throughout the NTI Townsville 500.
Gen3 cars will have the circuit to themselves at 12:50pm Friday, 10:10am and 11:00am Saturday and 11:05am Sunday.
“I can’t wait to see the Gen3 Supercars tackle Townsville,” NTI Townsville 500 Event Manager Matthew Ramsden said.
"This will be the first time the the cars will be tested on a street circuit with kerbs as aggressive as Reid Park's.
“The dedicated track sessions will give fans a great insight into what’s to come in 2023.
“Fans can also look forward to getting up close and personal with the cars while they’re on display in the pit garages.
"They look and sound amazing, there’s no better place to put them to the test than Townsville.”
Supercars will hit the track for dual practice sessions on Friday. Purchase your NTI Townsville 500 tickets now.
