Cam Waters drags past Broc Feeney in an incredible finish to Race 2
Waters tipped Feeney into a spin four laps from the finish but redressed

Cam Waters has given his account of events after the remarkable photo finish that decided Race 2 of the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship at the Thrifty Sydney 500 - Opening Round.
It was a wild four lap conclusion to Race 2 at Sydney Motorsport Park, after Waters made the most of a tyre advantage to bear down on race leader Broc Feeney.
Waters attempted to make quick work of the move at Turn 4, only to lock a front tyre and spear the #88 Camaro, spinning Feeney off to the outside in a flurry of tyre smoke.
As Waters attempted to redress, Will Brown quite literally entered the picture from stage right, and emerged into the frame as both drivers ahead got back up to speed.
Through a wild sequence the saw plenty of contact, Feeney emerged back into the lead, with Waters back in second, and Brown remaining third, with no intervention required from race officials.
That set up an epic finale, where Waters tagged the rear of Feeney at the final corner of the race before gaining the slightest bit of overlap heading onto the pit straight for the final time.
Waters used the side draft to perfection down the straight, making the decisive move in the final hundred metres of the race to claim victory by a barely believable 0.0308s.
Post-race, an elated Waters recounted the incredible battle on the broadcast in Pirtek Victory Lane.
"Yeah Turn 4, I sent it in there pretty hard, locked a front, and I don't think Broc quite realised I had the front locked and he turned in," said Waters.
"That's ok, it was probably more my fault than his. I gave the spot back as best as I could, and then all the tactics started and it was just game on from then on."
"I had so much fun, it's awesome to get the win and get this Ford Mustang in P1."
Waters revealed an important role played by long-time race engineer Sam Potter during the battle, counselling his driver after the collision with Feeney: "Pottsy told me to kind of calm down a bit, which is fair play, I've got no problem with that, and I probably need to thank him later for that.
"I think there probably wasn't a lot in that Turn 4 incident, I thought I would give the spot back anyway and keep racing hard, and that's what we did and I hope we put on a great show for the fans, massive thank you to everyone that came tonight.
"I just hoped that I could get him across the line. I ducked my head down under the steering wheel and tried to get whatever I could and get a little bit of a side draft, and all the power in this Ford got me across the line."
It capped off a remarkable fightback for Waters, who lost out in the Safety Car pit shuffle to Feeney after some clever work from Red Bull Ampol Racing.
Waters then made his second stop four laps after Feeney, and came out of the lane behind Brown and Chaz Mostert in fourth place, with 17 laps to catch Feeney.
"As the race was going on, I knew that the car was going to get better and better, and I knew that I could clear Will and Chaz, and they didn't make my life too hard which was great," Waters added.
"It was just head down and try and catch Broc, it was cool to catch him and have that epic battle at the end there."
Supercars will return to the track on Sunday at 11:10am AEDT for Boost Mobile Qualifying, followed by the Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout at 1:05pm.
The 200km Race 3 will commence at 4:05pm.
