Lochie Dalton returns to Repco Supercars Championship after debuting in Sydney last year
Tickford to run wildcard at four events this year for Dalton and Rylan Gray
Dalton currently 11th in Super2 standings, Gray series leader after two rounds
Tickford Autosport have unveiled a new livery for its expanded Repco Supercars Championship wildcard campaign, beginning with this weekend's Bosch Power Tools Perth Super 440.
23-year-old Lochie Dalton will pilot the Recycal Ford Mustang for this weekend's three races at CARCO.com.au Raceway, making for his second career Supercars round start.
Now in his second year with Tickford Autosport, Dalton made his Supercars debut last year at Sydney Motorsport Park, recording finishes of 22nd and 24th in the two races.
After running a predominantly white livery last year for his one-off start in Sydney, the #5 Mustang now features a menacing navy blue base.
Born in Launceston, but now residing in Camden south-west of Sydney, Dalton currently sits 11th in the Dunlop Super2 Series after being caught up in a hairpin tangle last time out at home.
“I’m stoked to be back with the Tickford crew this weekend in Perth,” Dalton said.
“It’s another big opportunity to test myself against the best and keep learning at this level. I had a solid run at Tassie in Super2 recently – a bit of bad luck in Race 1, but I was able to bounce back with a P4 in Race 2, so I’m feeling sharp heading into this weekend.
“Big thanks to all the partners who’ve helped make this possible again and Tickford Racing. It means a lot to have their continued support as I chase the next step in my career.”
Tickford's Dilan Talabani added: “He’s shown strong pace and maturity in Super2 and has earned another shot in the Gen3 Mustang. We’ve got a lot of confidence in what he can deliver this weekend.”
On-track action at the Bosch Power Tools Perth Super 440 begins tomorrow with two half-hour practice sessions at 12:05pm AWST/2:05pm AEST and 1:55pm AWST/3:55pm AEST. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
