V8 Supercars race team TDR is pleased to announce a continuation of its naming-rights sponsorship with HIFLEX Mobile Hose Service.
TDR and HIFLEX joined forces in the early part of the last year's V8 Supercars Championship, first partnering at the non-championship Australian Grand Prix event in March.
To celebrate the sponsorship's second year, TDR has revealed a striking new livery for the 2013 season, complete with a distinctive 'red and white' look – marking the team's return to Holden.
This confirmation follows last week's major announcement of a new partner to the team in VISA Global Logistics Pty Ltd. VISA Global Logistics will occupy space on the bonnet of the #3 Holden Commodore VF, and joins HIFLEX, Pferd, Centaur Caravans and the D'Alberto Motors Group as TDR's major sponsors for the 2013 season.
TDR will compete in the stunning new VF Commodore this year. The Walkinshaw Racing-built chassis has been tested by the team on three occasions leading up to the opening event, and TDR feels confident it has a sound package for an all-new season of V8 Supercars racing.
The 2013 V8 Supercars Championship marks a year of change for the category, with new technical regulations allowing more manufacturers to join the traditional 'Ford verses Holden' category. This year, Nissan joins the championship with a four-car factory-backed team, while Mercedes-Benz will be represented in a three-car effort, fielded by Erebus Motorsport.
The 2013 season kicks off this weekend in Adelaide for the famous Clipsal 500 (February 28-March 3). D'Alberto and Team HIFLEX will hit the track for the first time on Friday (March 1).
Rick Sacco, General Manager, Alfagomma
"We're looking forward to another season with TDR, and we're excited about it," said Rick Sacco.
"Tony is a great driver and TDR is a great team. Even though Tony wasn't happy with his results, we thought overall the team did a great job last year and we're looking forward to a bigger and better year ahead.
"We certainly saw the benefits of getting behind the team last year, which is why we're continuing the relationship. We utilised most of the events into benefitting our national operations by taking customers to the tracks and giving them the real V8 experience. I don't think anyone walked away unhappy, and I expect 2013 to be bigger and better.
"Tony and TDR are going back to Holden this year, and I think that it's a good thing. He has been a Holden man all his life – he won the Dunlop Series in a Holden, he has had his best results in a Holden, so I think he'll feel more comfortable there.
"With all of the changes in the category, it's an even playing field. TDR has as good a chance as any to be at the front of the pack."
Tony D'Alberto, driver, TDR
"I can't wait to get into this year. It has been a huge off-season for all of the teams, but it will all be worth it when we get to Adelaide," said Tony D'Alberto.
"It's such a big year with the changes, so it's hard to know where everyone is at. Until we all get to Clipsal and into qualifying, it's all up in the air. The first few races are going to be very interesting to see where everyone is placed.
"I'm really happy with the way the #3 car looks this year. When you have quiet a few big partners, it's not an easy task to squeeze everyone on, but I reckon we've come up with a look that suits all. It's nice and bright, clean and sharp. The look of our car might be simple, but on the track, I think its going to look really good."
Al D'Alberto, team owner, TDR
"It's fantastic to be able to welcome VISA Global Logistics to our team as well as having the continuity of HIFLEX and Pferd and all our sponsors," said Al D'Alberto.
"HIFLEX was new to V8 Supercars last year, and they have fitted in really way. It's going to be great to carry their colours again this year.
"To be honest, we couldn't ask for a better group of sponsors – big or small – each and everyone of them is fully behind the success of the team, and we plan on improving our results and being a contender.
"Over the break, we're quietly been working hard to improve every aspect of our business, and as we get onto the track, I think that will become evident.
"I also want to thank (team manager) Dylan Napier and the whole TDR crew for getting us to the start line, particularly with the build of the new Car of the Future. It has been a huge task to get our car built, prepared and ready, but I couldn't be happier with how it has all come together.
"We'll have an announcement of our co-driver in the coming week which I feel is very exciting."
