Mustang Supercars teams take on Ford global motorsport rebrand
Ford Performance rebranded to new 'Ford Racing' identity in 2025
Ford has won Bathurst 22 times, over 400 Supercars races
A new era for Ford arrives in Supercars in 2026, with all Mustang teams to carry the ‘Ford Racing’ banner.
Announced last year, Ford Performance will be rebranded as Ford Racing. This year marks 125 years since Ford founder Henry Ford won his first and only race in the Sweepstakes in 1901.
While Ford Racing rolled out last year, Supercars teams completed the 2025 season with Ford Performance branding, and duly won its first Bathurst 1000 since 2019, and first drivers' championship since 2020.
As part of the Shell V-Power Racing Team's 2026 launch, the team included a full suite of images, showcasing all angles of the fan-favourite livery.
Eagle-eyed viewers can also see the new Ford Racing banner, which takes the Blue Oval back to its racing roots.
In 2014, Ford launched 'Ford Performance’ and merged Special Vehicle Team, Special Vehicle Operations, and Ford Racing all under one umbrella.
The Ford Racing change comes as Ford returns to Formula 1 with Red Bull Racing and Racing Bulls in 2026.
Ford will also return to the top-tier of prototype sports car racing in 2027 in the World Endurance Championship.
All Ford Mustangs in the Repco Supercars Championship will carry significant Ford branding, headlined by the Ford insignia above the front grille, and on the rear and C-pillars. The Ford Racing logo is now on the rear bumper.
All Ford entrants in global series have now adopted Ford Racing branding moving forward.
In a letter to Ford fans last year, Ford Racing General Manager Will Ford said: "Make no mistake: We are competing at the highest levels across the globe—from Formula 1 to the World Rally Championship, from Le Mans to Bathurst. And we are going there with a single purpose. We don’t just go to races. We go to win."
Ford welcomes Triple Eight Race Engineering - including customer team SCT Motorsport - back in 2026, alongside Penrite Racing, Tickford Racing, Dick Johnson Racing and Blanchard Racing Team.
The 2026 Supercars season begins in Sydney on February 20-22.
