Ryan Wood to make Bathurst 12 Hour debut next month
Kiwi young gun to drive Pro-Am Ziggo Sport Tempesta Ferrari
Wood currently fifth in Formula Regional Oceania Trophy
Ryan Wood will add another race to what has already been a stacked 2026 Supercars pre-season.
Currently halfway through his maiden voyage into open-wheel racing in the Formula Regional Oceania Trophy, the 22-year-old has now been confirmed to be making his Bathurst 12 Hour debut, having hinted at the drive a fortnight ago.
The Kiwi is set to pilot a Ferrari 296 in a combined effort by 2024 GT World Challenge Australia champions Arise Racing GT and European squad Ziggo Sport Tempesta.
The #193 Ziggo Sport Tempesta by ARGT entry will be entered in the Pro-Am class, with Wood being joined by Briton Chris Froggatt, Hong Kong's Jonathan Hui, and Italian Lorenzo Patrese.
Wood has roots in GT racing, finishing second in the 2022 Porsche Sprint Challenge Australia season, before electing to walk away from an Porsche Team New Zealand scholarship to join Walkinshaw Andretti United in Super2 for 2023.
The Kiwi also contested a part-time schedule in GT World Challenge Australia last year, finishing fourth alongside fellow Kiwi Steve Brooks in an Audi.
“Super pumped to make my Bathurst 12 Hour debut, and equally excited to be joining the Ziggo Sport Tempesta by ARGT team in the beautiful Ferrari 296 GT3," Wood said.
"It’s a bucket‑list race and a bucket‑list car to be driving, and getting the chance to take them on together feels incredibly special.
"Both teams have an incredibly successful history, and ARGT won the 12 Hour in Pro-Am last season, so the momentum heading into this event is huge.
"It’s the perfect platform to kickstart my 2026 season, and I can't wait to get behind the wheel in a couple of weeks' time."
Wood's new Walkinshaw TWG Racing co-driver Jaxon Evans will be piloting the sister Arise Racing GT Ferrari in the Pro class alongside Ferrari factory drivers Daniel Serra and Davide Rigon.
Wood becomes the eight Supercars full-timer confirmed to be taking on some of the world's best drivers in the 12 Hour, and the first to pilot a Ferrari.
Wood's Walkinshaw TWG Racing teammate Chaz Mostert will join Tickford stars Cam Waters and Thomas Randle in a Scott Taylor Motorsport Mercedes-AMG, with Kai Allen, Jayden Ojeda, and Zach Bates also in the Mercedes camp.
Broc Feeney will drive the HRT Ford Racing Mustang GT3 in his first appearance as a factory Ford driver before commencing the new Supercars season in a brand-new Triple Eight Mustang.
The Meguiar's Bathurst 12 Hour will take place from February 13-15, before the Sydney 500 kicks off the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship from February 20-22. Tickets for both events are on sale now.
