Live Pit Lane: Consistent Tickford capitalises, BRT stung by clashes

Tickford Racing have maintained their advantage at the head of the 2026 Thrifty Teams' Championship after a double podium weekend in Melbourne.

Whilst they weren't the dominant team of the weekend, with Dick Johnson Racing claiming three wins and a runner-up courtesy of a rampant Brodie Kostecki, they were arguably the most consistent on a weekend full of drama.

Indeed, Tickford scored the second most points of any team in Melbourne, only behind DJR, whilst nearest rivals Penrite Racing and Red Bull Ampol Racing experienced mixed weekends.

The Grove family's squad was in position to jump to first, only for Matt Payne to suffer a puncture whilst running fourth in the finale, whist it was also a tricky weekend in the Red Bull Ampol camp.

Whilst Broc Feeney claimed a stunning win on Saturday, his weekend came to a sudden halt in a major crash at Turn 1 on Sunday. Second for Will Brown in the same race helped the team maintain third in the teams' standings.

The big loser was Blanchard Racing Team, which despite enjoying fantastic qualifying pace, saw both cars caught up in incidents. As a result, the team dropped from sixth to eighth.

Supercars action resumes next month with the inaugural ITM NZ Doubleheader, beginning at Taupō from April 10-12. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
