Dick Johnson Racing Mustangs take on bold yellow twist
Shell V-Power Racing Team supports Minions movie release
Brodie Kostecki fourth, rookie Rylan Gray 21st in points
The Shell V-Power Racing Team will take on a bold yellow look for the 2026 NTI Townsville 500.
The Fords of Brodie Kostecki and Rylan Gray will sport an inverted livery for this weekend's event, with yellow taking over from the traditional red look.
The livery switch is a nod to the upcoming Minions & Monsters film, which is the latest release in the global sensation franchise.
The livery recognises the exclusive collectibles currently on sale at Shell Reddy Express and Shell OTR around Australia.
Dick Johnson Racing has a great history of yellow-coloured cars, with Shell-backed Fords notably winning the 1994 Bathurst 1000 and winning the 1995 drivers' championship.
The team last ran a yellow livery on its wildcard Mustang at the 2023 Bathurst 1000.
DJR Falcons ran Shell Helix yellow in the 2003 and 2004 seasons, after the team carried predominantly red colour schemes between 1997 and 2002.
It's the second livery change for the Ford squad in as many rounds, after Kostecki and Gray carried Indigenous looks for the betr Darwin Triple Crown.
The new-look DJR Mustangs will hit the track for the first time in Townsville on Friday.
