Championship heavyweight Brodie Kostecki is facing investigation over an alleged impeding incident at the Tyrepower Tasmania Super 440.
The Shell V-Power Racing Team Kostecki was sixth in Q1 between Tickford Racing drivers Cam Waters and Thomas Randle, with Feeney eighth.
Jackson Walls ended up 11th, with replays showing the #11 Objective Ford lifting through Turn 2 to avoid Kostecki, who was exiting pit lane.
The incident was noted by Race Control during the session, with Kostecki going on to qualify third behind pole winner Chaz Mostert and Anton De Pasquale.
Supercars.com can confirm the incident is under investigation.
A grid penalty could put Kostecki back towards championship leader Broc Feeney, who qualified seventh.
Kostecki arrived in Tasmania just 23 points behind Feeney, with Matt Payne 23 points behind Kostecki in third.
Saturday’s first Boost Mobile Qualifying session got off to a poor start for Payne, who was left mired down in 19th ahead of teammate Kai Allen in 22nd.
The 50-lap Race 14 will commence at 1:00pm AEST.
