Brodie Kostecki avoids grid penalty after investigation
David Reynolds caught Kostecki at Turn 12 in qualifying
Kostecki will start from fourth, Broc Feeney on pole position
Brodie Kostecki will retain his starting spot for the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 finale, following an investigation.
Kostecki qualified fourth behind Broc Feeney, Will Brown and Aaron Cameron, but remained under a cloud over an incident in Boost Mobile Qualifying.
The Bathurst champion was caught by David Reynolds at Turn 12 at the end of Q1, prompting officials to investigate whether or not Reynolds had been impeded.
Will Brown was docked two grid spots for Saturday's race after he was found to have impeded Jack Le Brocq before the last corner in Friday qualifying.
It's understood Kostecki dodged penalty given Reynolds did not have his headlights on, which is commonplace for drivers who are on a fast lap.
It ensures Kostecki is free to race from fourth for Sunday's finale, which will commence at 2:45pm local time.
The Shell V-Power Racing Team star is 99 points clear of the cut-line, and needs a minimum finish of sixth to secure a Semi Final spot.
Race 32 will commence at 2:45pm local time/3:45pm AEDT. Fox Sports, Kayo Sports, the Seven Network, and Sky NZ take live coverage. International fans can watch on SuperView.
