  • More prize money for pole positions in 2026, including Bathurst 1000 doubling to $10,000

  • Boost Mobile Pole Champion bonus remains $50,000

  • $92,000 paid across 37 races in 2026, plus major-event pole bonuses

Supercars, in partnership with Boost Mobile, has increased prize money for pole positions in the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship, putting more than $140,000 on the line across the season.

Boost Mobile Qualifying is one of Supercars’ toughest tests, with ultra-tight margins and drivers chasing the perfect lap at every round.

In 2026, pole sitters will earn more across Boost Mobile Qualifying and Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootouts throughout the 14-event, 37 race season.

Top Ten Shootout pole prize money increases in 2026: every Sprint Cup race with a Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout will pay $2,500 to the pole sitter (up from $1,000 in 2025).

The Repco Bathurst 1000 pole prize doubles to $10,000 (from $5,000), Boost Mobile Pole for the AirTouch 500 at The Bend remains $5,000, and each 250km race in the Supercars Finals will continue to pay $5,000.

As in 2025, the driver with the most Boost Mobile Poles in 2026 will take home the $50,000 Boost Mobile Pole Champion bonus.

Supercars Executive Chairman Barclay Nettlefold said the increased payouts reflect the value teams and drivers place on starting at the front.

“In Supercars, qualifying can define your weekend. This uplift in prize money recognises the skill it takes to deliver under pressure, and it adds another reason for fans and teams to put a spotlight on the fight for pole,” Nettlefold said.

“Working with Boost Mobile, we’re proud to be increasing the rewards for performance right across the season, while keeping a strong focus on the sport’s biggest moments.”

Boost Mobile CEO Bobby Geldens said the increased prize pool underlines the importance qualifying.

“Qualifying is one of the purest tests in motorsport — it’s where drivers put everything on the line for that one perfect lap,” Geldens said. “We want to reward that. By increasing these increasing these prize amounts in 2026, we’re recognising the drivers and teams who keep pushing the limits.”

The increased prizing for Supercars pole positions complements continued support of Boost Mobile Pole in the DUNLOP Super2 Series, where pole sitters are awarded $500 at each race on the development series calendar.

Triple Eight’s Broc Feeney is the defending Boost Mobile Pole Champion, after a single-season record 19 poles in 2025.

The 23-year old said the increased prize money is a welcome recognition of how hard it is to deliver the ultimate lap.

“You always want to nail that perfect lap. Putting it all together for one lap, and getting the time on the board is one of the biggest challenges we face.” Feeney said.

“You’re right on the edge everywhere — no margin for error - so it’s great to see drivers recognised and rewarded for delivering when it counts,” he said.

“It’s so competitive and starting up front matters. Every pole is going to be hard-earned.”

Three Boost Mobile Poles will be on offer at this weekend’s ITM Taupō Super 440 (April 10-12) at Taupō International Motorsport Park.
