The Repco Supercars Championship has announced a renewed media partnership with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, naming the powerful Volkswagen Amarok Style V6 as the Official Recovery Vehicle of Supercars across Australia and New Zealand.
The Amarok will play a critical role at every Supercars event, with compelling off-road capability and 3.5-tonne towing capacity on hand to recover 1,350kg Supercars safely and efficiently on all types of terrain.
Whether on tarmac, gravel or sand, the Amarok has proven itself as a dependable workhorse able to perform under pressure in motorsport’s most demanding conditions.
“The Amarok, with its expansive and growing model line-up, has been designed to conquer challenging terrain, under a variety of driving conditions, and is perfectly equipped to handle all of the unknowns that can occur on a Supercars race weekend,” said Michael Cenci, Product Manager Amarok - Commercial Vehicles, Volkswagen Group Australia.

“We’re proud to continue our partnership with Supercars and to showcase the Amarok’s capability in one of the most demanding roles in motorsport – recovery. It’s a vehicle built for power, precision and reliability – the perfect partner for the track.”
Supercars will also work in conjunction with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles to produce digital content highlighting the strength, technology and outright capability of the Amarok alongside Alistar Walker, Supercars’ Recovery Manager and driver of the Amarok Recovery Vehicle.
“We’re thrilled to have Volkswagen back on board as our Official Recovery Vehicle Partner,” said Jamie Black, General Manager – Commercial, Supercars.
“Recovery is crucial in our sport in order to get racing back underway as safely and quickly as possible, which the Amarok has proven itself time and again match-made for the challenge.
We look forward to showcasing the Amarok on-track, and seeing fans experience the Amarok up close throughout the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship.”
The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship resumes in a fortnight at the NTI Townsville 500, where the Volkswagen Amarok will again be ready to respond from July 11-13 at the Reid Park Street Circuit.
