Penrite beats Tickford to second in Live Pit Lane race for The Bend
Triple Eight to carry first two garages for first 2025 endurance race
Triple Eight followed by five Ford teams for September 12-14 event
Penrite Racing have strengthened their position as the leading Ford team in pit lane for the opening event of the Enduro Cup at Tailem Bend.
Two podiums for rookie Kai Allen and further two top six finishes for Matt Payne have seen the team stretch out their advantage to 150 points over Tickford Racing in third.
Tickford had a disastrous weekend, and only maintained third through a lucky podium in Cam Waters' 300th start, and dual penalties for Walkinshaw Andretti United duo Chaz Mostert and Ryan Wood in the same race.
Whilst there will be no movement in the live pit lane order ahead of the 500km Enduro Cup opener in South Australia, behind the battle for third there is a three-way fight for fifth that is brewing.
With a maximum of 1152 points available across the two enduros at Tailem Bend and Bathurst, there is plenty of opportunity for change in the the pit lane order heading into both Bathurst and the opening round of the Finals Series on the Gold Coast.
Whilst Triple Eight, with another perfect weekend of three wins from starts, have now cleared out to the tune of 1041 points over the Grove squad, there are plenty of battles that could swing further back in the pack.
Dick Johnson Racing are just 93 points ahead Brad Jones Racing in the battle for fifth, with Team 18 only a further 47 behind BJR after another strong weekend for Anton De Pasquale.
The GM homologation team in waiting are 140 points ahead of Matt Stone Racing in seventh, with any potential gains for MSR going begging after both Cameron Hill and Nick Percat were penalised for Sunday incidents with wildcard Zach Bates that occurred within 15 seconds of each other.
PremiAir Racing find themselves 160 points ahead of Erebus Motorsport in ninth, whilst even the battle for the last two garages could heat up in the long distance races, with Erebus 182 points ahead of Blanchard Racing Team.
There will be an additional three pit garage allocations for wildcards for the Enduro Cup, with Triple Eight (Craig Lowndes/Bates) and Matt Stone Racing (Cameron Crick/Aaron Seton) to share a pit boom.
Tickford's wildcard for Super2 young guns Lochie Dalton and Rylan Gray will have their own dedicated pit boom at the back of pit lane.
The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship continues at the AirTouch 500 at The Bend from September 12-14, and will open the Enduro Cup. Tickets are on sale now.
