Supercars is pleased to announce the extension of its partnership with building supplies specialist ITM, in which ITM will continue as the naming rights partner of Supercars’ event in Taupō through at least 2027.
ITM has proudly supported Supercars' New Zealand events since 2010, with its name associated with thrilling events on the streets of Hamilton, at Pukekohe Park Raceway, and now at Taupō International Motorsport Park.
The inaugural ITM Taupō event in 2024 was met with overwhelming enthusiasm, as over 67,000 passionate Kiwi fans welcomed Supercars to its new home in the land of the long white cloud.
ITM’s extended partnership with Supercars was announced as Supercars drivers visited Taupō International Motorsport Park ahead of the championship’s return to the venue April 11-13.
ITM CEO Sara Johnson said the co-operative with 95 independently owned stores was thrilled to extend its long-standing support of Supercars in New Zealand: “We’re proud to continue our partnership with Supercars and the ITM Taupō event through 2027.
"At ITM, strong relationships are at the core of what we do, whether it’s with our customers, communities or partners like Supercars. Bringing a world-class event like this to Taupō is something we’re proud to stand behind.
“Supercars has some of the most passionate fans in New Zealand, and last year proved just how much this sport means to Kiwis.
"We love getting behind events that bring people together, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back in April to see the ITM Taupō Super440 go from strength to strength in 2025 and beyond.”
Supercars will return to Taupō International Motorsport Park on April 11-13, 2025, for the ITM Taupō Super440.
The event will feature three highly competitive races, with the prestigious Jason Richards Memorial Trophy awarded to the driver who accumulates the most points across the weekend.
Last year’s event saw Aucklander Andre Heimgartner take an emotional win in the wet in the inaugural Supercars Taupō race on the Saturday, before champion-to-be Will Brown out-duelled teammate Broc Feeney for the Sunday race win.
With a pair of third place finishes across the two races in 2024, Anton De Pasquale was a popular victor of the Jason Richards Memorial Trophy.
Supercars General Manager – Commercial, Jamie Black, welcomed ITM’s continued commitment to the championship: “ITM has been a fantastic partner of Supercars in New Zealand for over a decade, and we are excited to continue this strong relationship through 2027.
"Their commitment to supporting motorsport has helped make our New Zealand events some of the most memorable on the calendar.
"We look forward to building on the success of the inaugural event at Taupō last year and delivering another spectacular weekend for Kiwi fans in 2025 and beyond.”
The 2025 ITM Taupō Super440 promises another exciting weekend of motorsport and entertainment.
The hugely popular Track to Town returns on Thursday, April 10, where all 24 Supercars will drive from Taupō International Motorsport Park into the town of Taupō, followed by three days of racing across April 11-13.
