Track schedule released for Supercars, Superbikes extravaganza
The track schedule for the Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440 has been revealed, headlined by a blockbuster weekend of Supercars and Superbikes racing.
The Repco Supercars Championship and mi-bike Motorcycle Insurance Australian Superbike Championship presented by Motul will both be in action at Queensland Raceway.
In a rare Supercars and Superbikes crossover, the event will see the best in domestic two and four-wheel racing share the same track across three bumper days of action.
Supercars and Superbikes will contest three races each across the weekend, which will also offer unique opportunities for drivers, riders, teams, and fans to cross paths.
It will be the first time Supercars has raced at 'the Paperclip' since 2019, while future stars of Supercars in the Dunlop Super2 Series will also hit the track.
The Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia and Toyota GAZOO Racing Australia GR Cup complete what will be a wide range of four- and two-wheel action across the three-day event.
“It’s not every day you get to see the best of Supercars and Superbikes on the same track – this is something really special for fans and for the sport," Event Manager Matt Gegg said.
“We’ve put a lot of thought into the schedule to make sure there’s non-stop action across all three days. Whether you’re into two wheels or four, there’s always something happening out there.”
“One of the things I’m most excited about is the crossover moments – fans being able to watch a Superbike session, then turn around and catch a Supercars race straight after. It’s going to create a great buzz around the track.”
Motorcycling Australia CEO Peter Doyle added: “I’ve always enjoyed the excitement and buzz of the ‘two-plus-four’ concept, even as far back as the 1980s when Australia’s Superbike pioneers showcased their extraordinary skills and dare in front of a massive four-wheel audience. “Four decades later, that’s still the case, and I’m looking forward to some thrilling racing at Queensland Raceway in what will be a treat for lovers of both Superbike and Supercars racing.”
