Broc Feeney/Jamie Whincup, Aaron Cameron/Zak Best cars log 205 laps
Feeney set fastest time in morning session, Ryan Wood quickest in afternoon
The Bend 500 set for September 12-14, followed by Bathurst 1000 on October 9-12
Tuesday's Ryco Enduro Cup Test Day at Queensland Raceway was the final chance for teams, drivers and co-drivers to get up to speed before the year's longest races.
To little surprise, Triple Eight Race Engineering made a statement of sorts with the most laps of the day for its Broc Feeney/Jamie Whincup combination, while Feeney's time in the morning was the second quickest of the day.
Fastest lap honours, while meaning little in the grand scheme of things, went to Ryan Wood and Walkinshaw Andretti United.
In the closing stages of the afternoon session, Wood clocked a 1:08.8s lap to end the day on top. The Wood/Jayden Ojeda car was ranked 13th on total laps with 169, compared to Feeney/Whincup's 205.
Impressively, the Blanchard Racing Team Ford of Aaron Cameron/Zak Best also logged 205 laps, despite Best beaching the car during the morning session. The only other incident was for the #18 Cub Cadet Camaro, with Harri Jones beaching the car at Turn 6 in the afternoon.
The fewest laps of the day, 135, were recorded by Tickford Racing's star combo of Cam Waters/Mark Winterbottom. The #6 Monster Energy Ford was ranked 19th in the morning session, and 26th in the afternoon.
"Plenty of laps done today. Just as we were on the weekend, we rolled out really strong, I did a few laps in the morning but to be honest today was just about Jamie doing laps and getting comfortable in the car,” Feeney said.
"I feel like we've changed the car a little bit since he last drove it last year. It was good, just went through our normal changes with him to give him a bit better understanding of it.
"Pit stop practice went awesome, driver changes were super smooth. The on track stuff though, I felt like we made a couple of gains on where we even finished on the weekend so that's exciting to keep improving like that.
"Jamie did another race run at the end which was really good. So it ended up being a really good day, plenty to be happy about especially this morning, Feels like we made a couple of gains on what was already a really, really good race car.
"Procedural stuff is down, Jamie got plenty of time behind the wheel and laps in, and did a great job, so plenty to be excited about."
The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship shifts to Enduro Cup mode at the AirTouch 500 at The Bend on September 12-14, followed by the Repco Bathurst 1000 on October 9-12. Tickets are on sale now.
