Thomas Randle Ford quickest at halfway in enduro test
Randle/Reuben Goodall entry leads all-Ford top three through four hours
All five Toyota Supras logged more than 90 laps, two hitting 100
The Thomas Randle/Reuben Goodall Tickford Racing Ford has ended the morning session of the enduro test on top of the time sheets in Ipswich.
Through four hours of testing at Queensland Raceway, the Randle/Goodall #55 Castrol Ford ended up just 0.038s to the good.
Brodie Kostecki was second in his second #17 Shell V-Power Ford, with Aaron Cameron completing an all-Mustang top three.
While the day isn't about lap times, it was a promising morning for the Randle Ford, with the 2020 Super2 champion setting the fastest lap during the first 90 minutes.
The morning ran largely uninterrupted, save for a brief stoppage after David Russell looped the #31 PremiAir Chevrolet into the Turn 3 gravel trap.
Anton De Pasquale's #18 DEWALT Camaro also suffered a right-front suspension failure, pitching the Chevrolet into the gravel. De Pasquale managed to return his car to the garage, with quick repairs sending the car back out.
Three cars logged 100-plus laps — the Brad Jones Racing Toyotas of Cameron Hill/Brad Vaughan and Macauley Jones/Jordan Boys, and Jackson Walls/Jack Perkins’ Ford.
Hill moved his car to seventh in the final minute, behind the Bayley Hall/Craig Lowndes Chevrolet, James Golding/Richie Stanaway Ford, and Cooper Murray/Lochie Dalton Chevrolet.
Randle's 1:09.1460s held sway for the balance of the morning, with Cameron putting down a 1:09.1920s to close to within 0.05s.
Repco Sprint Cup winner Broc Feeney was fifth, 0.3s down, before Golding moved to third with a 1:09.2280s after three hours.
Impressive Team 18 wildcard Hall jumped to third with a 1:09.2150s. Murray then went sixth with a 1:09.3770s on his 65th lap, backed it up with a 1:09.2540s to go fifth.
The 2026 season’s newest winner, Will Brown, skipped to ninth with a 1:09.5350s on his #888 Ford’s 58th lap.
Through three hours and 36 minutes, Kostecki closed to within 0.04s of Randle’s time. At that stage, the Hill/Vaughan Supra was the first car to crack 100 laps.
All told, the Hill/Vaughan car logged 112 laps, ahead of Jones/Boys (107 laps), Walls/Perkins (101), Andre Heimgartner/Bryce Fullwood (99), Ryan Wood/Jaxon Evans (98) and Chaz Mostert/Fabian Coulthard (96) cars.
Cars will return to the track for the afternoon session from 2:00pm local time.
