As 2025 winds down, Supercars.com is looking over all 11 teams and their performances in this year's Repco Supercars Championship, continuing with Erebus Motorsport.
There's an odd contrast in Erebus Motorsport's brightest day of 2025 coming on what was quite possibly the bleakest, dreariest day of the season at the Repco Bathurst 1000.
With just five laps remaining, on a day where several frontrunners tripped over, Cooper Murray had stormed to the lead in a Bathurst downpour, and looked set to claim a shock Bathurst win in his second start.
It would've been even more of a shock for co-driver Jobe Stewart, the 21-year-old South Australian on course for a win in his first attempt at The Great Race.
As it panned out, fortune wouldn't be on their side, but it was proof that on their day, Erebus Motorsport can take it to the absolute best in pit lane.
Unfortunately, we wouldn't see that all too often this year, with Erebus struggling in the wake of the departure of both Brodie Kostecki and key engineering personnel.
Murray would have a particularly rough introduction to full-time Supercars, whilst veteran Jack Le Brocq couldn't deliver the same highs that saw him jag a pole position in Townsville last year.
The Enduro Cup was by far the highlight of Erebus' season, with the Murray/Stewart combination second only to the Bathurst-winning Matt Payne/Garth Tander in the final standings, whilst Stewart's Academy stablemate Jarrod Hughes also shone alongside Le Brocq.
Erebus Motorsport: 2025 season results and head-to-heads
Drivers' finish: Jack Le Brocq 17th, Cooper Murray 18th
Teams' finish: 9th
Best result: 4th (Jack Le Brocq, Darwin & Cooper Murray/Jobe Stewart, Bathurst)
Qualifying head-to-head: Jack Le Brocq 21, Cooper Murray 13
Race head-to-head: Jack Le Brocq 20, Cooper Murray 6
What's next in 2026?
Stewart was stunning in his first two Supercars drives, and has been duly awarded with a full-time promotion for 2026 alongside his co-driver Murray.
Erebus, and CEO Barry Ryan in particular, have invested heavily in Stewart, picking up the youngster as a 13-year-old go karter in 2017, before going through the now-traditional pathway of Toyota 86, Super3, and then Super2.
Having won Super3 in 2023, the talent was on display throughout the Enduro Cup, immediately laying down a marker against the full-timers at The Bend.
However, as anyone who has made the leap can attest to, the jump between Super2 and Supercars is a huge task, especially when Stewart is expected to have a rookie engineer in Aidan Graham calling the shots
Alongside Murray, who started to string together some strong qualifying performances in the back end of the year, Erebus have built an intriguing line-up for 2026.
In some ways, you can draw comparisons to the 2021 season at Erebus, where the team signed two rookies by the name of Will Brown and Brodie Kostecki to drive their Commodores.
Just two years later, and Erebus were crowned team's champions, and Kostecki the drivers' champion. A Bathurst crown was added in 2024.
Whether or not they can produce a similar rebuild over the next few years is question that will only be answered with time, but one thing's for certain. They certainly won't die wondering.
