Broc Feeney beats Anton De Pasquale to Race 18 victory, Kai Allen third
15 drivers have now claimed at least one podium through 17 races in 2025
Super Soft tyre race ends under Safety Car after collision at the hairpin
Broc Feeney controlled proceedings for his seventh victory of the 2025 Supercars season in Darwin, as Anton De Pasquale and Kai Allen scored their first podiums of the year.
The championship leader was peerless in the 42-lapper, which finished under control of the bp pulse Safety Car after a late incident at the hairpin. While Feeney was untouchable, De Pasquale and rookie Allen completed the podium.
While it was a first podium for Team 18 for De Pasquale, teenager Allen claimed his first ever podium. Through 17 completed races, 15 of 24 drivers have now claimed at least one podium finish.
A collision at the hairpin triggered a win-sealing Safety Car for Feeney, who claimed his sixth victory in his last eight starts, fourth in a row, and fifth in Darwin.
"That was an awesome race, obviously a bit anti-climactic at the end, but it was really good," said Feeney, who leads Will Brown by 143 points heading into Sunday.
"We ran super long just in case of a Safety Car or anything like that, and I wasn't really enjoying it that much. I had a couple of guys come out behind me, and it was just super tight and I was just waiting and waiting, but it was great strategy, the pit stops were fantastic.
"The car is a rocket, so I was stoked when I got the start because I knew I could just manage the race how I wanted to and five seconds, fastest lap, all of that. Pretty awesome."
Feeney and De Pasquale dragged down to Turn 1 after the lights went out, with Allen rounding up Cam Waters. On the following lap, Matt Payne sent Richie Stanaway into a spin, and down to last. No penalty was deemed necessary, with Stanaway appearing to move under brakes.
De Pasquale kept Feeney honest in the opening laps, as Allen kept Waters at bay. As the laps ticked over, though, Feeney opened up a margin, and set the fastest lap on lap 9 as Payne and Nick Percat were taken out of traffic.
Brodie Kostecki was taken out of sixth on lap 15 as the stops continued, with Feeney opening up a 3.6s lead by lap 20. Bryce Fullwood (lap 24) and Brown (lap 25) stopped from the top 10 as the leaders marched on.
Waters, Andre Heimgartner and Jack Le Brocq stopped on lap 26, with Heimgartner jumping Waters in the lane. Penrite Racing reacted and pulled Allen in, with a wheel rolling into the fast lane. Stewards advised the stop would be investigated after the race.
De Pasquale was brought in on lap 27, and rejoined behind the early stoppers Kostecki and Payne. On the following lap, Triple Eight decided enough was enough, and pulled off a rapid stop.
With the field cleansed, Feeney led Kostecki by one second, with Payne, De Pasquale, Allen, Fullwood, Percat, Waters and Ryan Wood rounding out the top 10.
On fresh rubber, Feeney nailed the fastest lap of the race on lap 30, before De Pasquale picked off Payne at Turn 1. On the following lap, De Pasquale picked off Kostecki and regained second position, as Feeney went faster again.
Allen rounded up Kostecki to return to third, as Wood threw away eighth with an off at Turn 1. Waters did the same as he attempted to hold off Brown, and finished 10th.
With three laps to go, attention turned to the hairpin, where a concertina sent Reynolds into a spin. Stewards hit Randle with a 15-second penalty over the clash, dropping the #55 Castrol Ford to 22nd.
With Reynolds stranded, the Safety Car was deployed with two laps remaining, neutralising the race and sealing career win No. 19 for Feeney.
Heimgartner, Kostecki, Fullwood, Brown, Payne, Wood and Waters rounded out the top 10. Brown charged from 17th to seventh, Chaz Mostert crawled from 23rd to 17th, while Reynolds and Stanaway weren't classified.
