Tickford Racing star Cam Waters scores NASCAR road course cameo
Waters to contest Lime Rock road course event after Darwin Triple Crown
Tickford driver fourth in Supercars points after five rounds
Supercars star Cam Waters has locked in a NASCAR road course cameo in the Truck Series.
The Tickford Racing driver made two Truck Series starts on ovals last year, and also made his Cup Series debut at the Sonoma road course.
Waters will travel to the United States after this weekend's betr Darwin Triple Crown to contest the Lime Park road course event on June 28.
The 30-year-old will again race for Ford squad ThorSport Racing, which Waters raced for last year, finishing 19th at Kansas.
The Lime Park race falls one week after this weekend's Darwin round and two weeks before the next round in Townsville.
Waters is the latest Supercars driver to lock in a one-off NASCAR appearance, with reigning champion Will Brown returning to the Cup Series to contest the Chicago street race next month.
Jack Perkins, meanwhile, will contest the Xfinity Series race in Portland later this year.
Three-time Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen made headlines earlier this week, crushing the Cup Series field in Mexico to clinch a provisional Playoffs berth.
“I am genuinely excited to be heading back over to the USA to race at Lime Rock Park with the ThorSport operation,” Waters said.
“They are a truly great team with an incredibly successful racing background in the NASCAR Truck Series, and I had a heap of fun with them last year in the two races I contested.
“Lime Rock is a fast and flowing road course, which I feel I’ll be very well-suited to, and I can’t wait to hit the track in my No. 66 Ford F-150.
“I want to thank everyone at ThorSport – Duke, Rhonda, and Allison Thorson.
“I’m grateful for Ford Performance and everyone else who has helped make this happen. Make no mistake, I’m going after the win.”
Tickford CEO Simon Brookhouse added: "We're delighted to see Cam returning to the United States to compete with the Ford-backed ThorSport team and emphatically support his desire to pursue competing in complementary motor racing categories.
"These opportunities only serve to make him a better driver and highlight Tickford Racing's ongoing commitment to driver development."
The 2025 Supercars season will resume at the betr Darwin Triple Crown on June 20-22. Tickets for the event are on sale now. International viewers can follow all the action on Superview.
