Bryce Fullwood facing uncertain future in Supercars
Fullwood splitting with BJR at end of 2025, other grid vacancies filling
Finals hopes all but dashed with Bathurst the last chance to qualify
Bryce Fullwood's Supercars career is at a crossroads.
The popular Darwin-born driver finds himself on the outer at Brad Jones Racing at the end of the season, with the team snapping up 2025 race winner Cameron Hill to drive alongside Andre Heimgartner and Macauley Jones next season.
So what comes next? It's a question that Fullwood himself doesn't have the answers to as of yet.
In fact, Fullwood was bracing for this reality as far back as July, when he went on record to suggest a BJR renewal wasn't a sure thing.
Although there is still plenty to play out in silly season, there are few places where Fullwood could feasibly end up.
There have been tenuous links to a direct swap with Hill at Matt Stone Racing, which would mark a return to the team he ran with in the 2018 Super2 Series and the 2018 Enduro Cup.
However, with Jack Le Brocq shaping to replace Hill, and Nick Percat currently contracted to 2027, it seems more and more likely that a shift to co-driving looms for the 2019 Super2 champion.
An honest Fullwood has admitted that the final four rounds of the Repco Supercars Championship in Bathurst, the Gold Coast, Sandown, and Adelaide could be telling to what his future holds.
"My future next year, I don't really know myself," Fullwood recently told media.
"The best sales pitch is to go fast and get trophies, so I've been trying my best.
"It's tough, it's a super competitive category. Some weekends you go well, other weekends you don't go well, and a lot of it is out of my control.
"There's a lot of people who contribute to a result at an event, but for me the best thing I can do is just try my absolute best."
Finals hopes have faded for Fullwood after a strong run of mid-season top 10's, with the #14 Camaro sitting 15th in the standings, some 192 points behind Kai Allen in 10th.
However, the three-time Supercars podium placegetter has quietly built a solid record at the Bathurst 1000, recording three straight top 10 finishes from 2021 to 2023.
This year he also welcomes a race-sharp co-driver, with BJR Super2 ace Brad Vaughan jumping into the #14 at The Bend off the back of claiming the team's first Super2 pole position since 2018 at Ipswich.
Despite struggling to 25th in qualifying and 20th in the race at The Bend, Fullwood remains confident that he and Vaughan can have a strong finish to the Ryco Enduro Cup at Bathurst.
"I know I can do well at Bathurst, it's a track that I'm good at, so as long as the car is halfway there, I know we will be alright.
"The best thing I can do is just try and put on the best result I can, and whatever happens next year happens."
