Aaron Love V8 return confirmed with Marcos Ambrose-run team
Former BRT driver Love to contest Trans Am at this weekend's Darwin round
Love departed BRT after Round 1, and was replaced by Aaron Cameron
Aaron Love will return to V8-powered racing in Trans Am, with the former Supercars driver racing under a famous name.
It has been a turbulent 2025 for the young West Aussie driver, who split with Blanchard Racing Team after Round 1 of the 2025 Supercars season.
It came after Love collided with then teammate James Courtney in a bizarre incident in qualifying at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Love dropped off the Supercars radar after being replaced at BRT by Aaron Cameron, but recently made his return to racing in GT World Challenge Australia at Queensland Raceway.
The Perth-born driver will get back behind the wheel of a V8-powered race car at this weekend’s Darwin round, racing in the Trico Trans Am Series.
Love will drive the #45 Marcos Ambrose Motorsport Chevrolet Camaro, in a team run by the two-time Supercars champion.
He joins a 27-car Trans Am grid in Darwin, led by champion and 2024 Bathurst 1000 winner Todd Hazelwood.
PremiAir Racing driver James Golding will be replaced by Elliot Cleary. Tim Slade and Love’s former boss, Tim Blanchard, will also race.
"I chose to race in Trans Am because it’s exciting, different, and something I know I’ll need to adapt to,” said Love, who recently completed a test day at Winton.
"At this point in my career, I just want to get back on track in an environment I’ll enjoy, one where I can perform, keep learning, and continue building my driver profile.
"I really enjoy driving these cars—there are similarities to a current Supercar, but the Trans Am is also quite unique, especially with the big Hoosier tyres the category runs.”
